Jr. High School was pretty bad for me. I was picked on by the "popular" girls. Although I hated being picked on and didn't understand why they were bothering me, I also realized that they weren't people I wanted to be friends with, so I didn't try to get on their good side (in retrospect, that must have bothered them even more).
I hope that if I have a daughter one day, my DH and I can raise her to be true to herself and not care about popularity.
i went through the same thing in high school so i know the feeling 
it made me a stronger person today though

It's so much harder for kids these days. At least when I was being picked on in school, for the most part I could go home and be free of it. Now, kids spend all afternoon and evening online, where they can be continually bullied throughout the day.

seriously everything that upset me in HS is stupid to me now. everyone goes through their own crap but this technology makes the drama so evil and scary
