Prenatal with DHA - mercury?
Hi everyone,
Does anyone else take the prenatal, PNV with DHA softgell or something similar? I was wondering if the DHA is from fish oil that may contain mercury or other contaminants. This is a prescription prenatal so I dont know if I need to call the pharmacy to find out. I'm hoping that this is mercury free or I will need to find myself a new prenatal. Thanks!

If its a script im pretty sure the dr wouldnt give you anything that could harm the baby. 
And yes, mine had dha from my ob. No issues.

Thanks ladies. I called CVS to find out if my prenatal's DHA is fish oil or plant based, but was told they were too busy and to call back later tonight when they would have more time to research. I'm hoping that its plant based or purified fish oil.

It seems that most everyone's prenatal's DHA is plant based. That would eliminate any mercury issues.

You can probably google it most medications have websites and it will tell you on there.

I take the PNV-DHA prenatal...I didn't think it was plant based DHA, I thought those were mostly for people with fish allergies...not all fish are high in mercury, so even if it is fish DHA, that doesn't mean it contains mercury...keep us posted though if you find anything out...
