pre pregnancy and current pregnancy weight
I seem to be a little concerned. I know you guys arent surprize cuz im the worrier. LOL well my pre pregnancy weight was 165 and im 22w3d and im only 176. I know i shouldnt be saying only but i see so many post here where women have gained almost 25 pounds around this time should i be concerned that im malnourishing my child. LOL i feel like i am eating a lot but i know i am sleeping more than anything.

Re: pre pregnancy and current pregnancy weight
I am 22W and still down 11lbs from pre-pregnancy weight.........
My midwife isn't concerned, Lexi is healthy and Kicking up a storm.
I'm not going to worry about it. Every woman and every pregnancy is different. My sister gained 65lbs with her first! I'm lucky if I gain thos 11lbs back

Re: pre pregnancy and current pregnancy weight
I don't think you are malnourishing your child. It sounds like you were overweight to begin with. My doctor said that overweight women should only gain about 15 - 20 pounds. Thinner women need to gain about 25 - 35 pounds.

Actually, it can be depending on how tall you are. I was 165ish on my wedding day, but I'm only 5'1" tall, so yes, I was overweight!
But to the OP... sounds like you are doing just fine. I don't know what my pre-pregnancy weight was because I had gained alot of weight due to all the fertility drugs I was taking. I had my first Pregnancy OB appointment at 10 weeks. I'm now 23 weeks and I'm up 11lbs from that 10 week appointment (I'm not giving #'s though because I'm about it!). I've been told because I was overweight to begin with, I shouldn't gain more than 20lbs. I think I'm on track.

You will be fine - as the nurse said to me on sunday - "the baby will take everything it needs".

Re: pre pregnancy and current pregnancy weight
Pre pregnancy I was a bit on the curvy side shall we say.
At 24 weeks I have gained about 7 pounds.
My DR is not concerned at all.

Re: pre pregnancy and current pregnancy weight
That weight gain is fine. I'm 20 weeks and have gained about 7lbs. 125 before, 132 now.
eta: 165 would be considered overweight for my height

A bit harsh? 165 is just a number... the height has a lot to do with it as well.

It sounds to me like you're doing just fine & I'm sure you aren't harming the baby at all. I was 127 the last time I weighed myself pre-pregnancy & I'm now 130 at 15w4d.

Re: pre pregnancy and current pregnancy weight
165 can certainly be overweight based on ones height and build.
For example, if a person is medium build and 5'4" tall, they are certainly overweight at 165.

Even your heigh doesn't have everything to do w/ it - I'm only 5'2" and I am comfortable and look my best at about 140 and a size 6-8 .....Even 165 for me is about a size 10.
but I digress, at 14 weeks I haven't gained any weight yet. which for ME, is fine b/c I was overweight pre pregnancy - (size 12 at 176 lbs)

for some, yes - but that comment/assumption was kind of unnecessary to begin with - .........

exactly but the weight alone does not scream overweight...if you are 5'7 or something, that is a perfect weight, imho

Re: pre pregnancy and current pregnancy weight
I don't know how tall you are so I won't try to guess if you are under or overweight. However, my doctor did tell me that if you are thin, you tend to gain more weight.
I'm small and am still negative 5 pounds since my pre-pregnancy weight at 16.5 weeks. I hope that in another 6 weeks, I will be up 11 pounds, which means I have to gain 16 pounds. Sigh.

I wouldn't worry I am only up 3 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight at 21 weeks because I lost a lot of weight the first trimester.

it was totally uncalled for and rude comment. You had no idea how tall/what her build was/etc but you still said "165 sounds like you are overweight". I'm sorry, but your comment is so ARGH!!

Re: pre pregnancy and current pregnancy weight
Not to worry. I am average weight, always have been. At 22 weeks, I didn't gain anything. Maybe 1 lb.
I am now at 30+ weeks and I have finally gained a total of about 11.5lbs.
As the baby grew, I did gain weight so you still have time. My dr told me repeatedly NOT to worry when I asked.

I was hoping you would chime in!
(Flatbread was the main person to answer my repeated questions about lack of weight gain when I was concerned.)
