Prayers Please for these two teens!!! (Update in first post)
These two teens are friends with my brother and members of the fire dept my family is heavily involved in.
Update: They are improving. They can respond by moving their hands.
One boy has a broken leg, on a respirator, and still in stable condition.
The other boy, has a broken collar bone and cheek and lots of tubes in his throat/head.
We appreciate the prayers. I hope the girl that did this does not get away with it being a "mistake". Her mom is court officer and her dad a lawyer, so I'm sure this will be swept under the carpet.

A 17-year-old West Islip girl was arrested in a hit-and-run accident early Thursday morning and charged with drunken driving after her car struck two firefighters and she drove away, the Suffolk police said.
The two firefighters were hospitalized in critical condition.
Jillian M. Lazinsky, 17, of 20 Seabreeze Lane, was arrested by police detectives several blocks away from the accident scene, the police said.
The accident took place at around 1 a.m. when three West Islip firefighters, Thomas Devlin, 19, of 610 Cadman Ave., Joseph Ortiz, 18, of 681 Alwick Ave., and Alyssa Saenz, 20, of 1231 Minerva Ave., had just finished training at the West Islip Fire Department headquarters.
As the three walked across Higbie Lane at Union Boulevard a 2005 Honda Accord with Lazinsky at the wheel struck Devlin and Ortiz and drove away, the police said.
Devlin and Ortiz were transported by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip and admitted in critical condition.
A witness notified Suffolk police Detectives Brendan O'Hara and Mark Bendetti, who were in the area on an unrelated assignment, and they located Lazinsky and the car several blocks away on Udalia Road, the police said.
She was arrested and taken to the Third Precinct stationhouse where she submitted to a blood test.
Lazinsky was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injuries and driving while intoxicated. She was held for arraignment Thursday at First District Court in Central Islip.

17 yrs old and arrested for drunk driving. that's terrible.

I work at Good Sam and was there when they came in......I only heard it was a hit and run, I didn't know they were hit by a 17 year old drunk driver!! How horrible!!!

Wow my wife's cousin is 19 and a he vols at East Islip. I have to ask him if he knew any of them. What a tragedy. Hopefully they will pull through fine.
