POLL: How many car payments do you have left?
Just curious.
I was young and stupid. I thought I needed a new car. I bought my first new car in 04.
2005 Honda..
for 72 months.
I have 28 payments left
ETA: Should say my car IS brand spanking new.

I am taking out a 5 year loan- but want to pay it off sooner- Jake wont let me take a 3 year loan b/c he wants to keep my debt to income ratio as low as possible

ZERO! I have a 2004 Xterra I paid off in 2006. I had a 6 year loan (same interest rate as the 5 year, and I knew id pay it off early)
DH just got a new civic in May (5 year loan), but he had his previous car for 8 years.

We both bought "pre-owned" cars, mine is a 98 bought in 2000, and DH's is a 99 bought in 2002.
They're both now paid off

I am not 100% sure. I bought it in April - brand new and five years of payments BUT I pay like 4x the amount each month so I am already paid up well into 2009 and still paying each month so much less than five years left!
And then when I am done with the Jeef i am buying myself a Ford so that is also why i am rushing.

I am in the processof selling my Civic, which has about 20 payments left and will use DH's Camry which has about 5 payments on it. So excited to have one less car payment, insurance payment etc...
