With my DS we asked before....This time around we are on the fence of who it is going to be ( would like to ask the same couple possibly but don't know if that is too much to ask of them)...If we figure it out before the birth, we will ask ahead of time again

I just asked my best friend yesterday! She accepted! It is before our daughter is born,but I knew it would be her and I was really excited to ask.
We haven't officially asked the godfather yet, but I am sure he assumes we will ask- we will do it before too

Ours have already been asked! My sister just knew she'd be the Godmother so we didn't even need to ask her and my DH already asked his brother! Both of them are very excited

I am in a debate over the godmother. I want to ask my friend but she recently just moved out of state and I dont know how involved she will be since calls seemed to have decreased a great deal. And my DH brother is getting married and his brother will be the godfather, but we are hesitating asking his wife to be a godmother. There has been much family drama with her and I feel if we dont ask then it will be more drama. Im so confused. Im hoping that the god will just lead me to the right person.

My baby will be here Tuesday and we haven't done it yet. We wanted to do it in person, so I will ask my sister when she comes to visit in the hospital and DH will ask his brother on Thanksgiving.

we will definately do it before the twins are born....planning on each havnig their own set and probably friends and one of my cousins....it shouldnt be a "RULE" that it has to be family...we want people who respect our morals and would god forbid raise them similar to us

Typically in my religion you only have godparents for boys. We're having a girl, so by a religious aspect, we don't ask anyone to be godparents.
As far as LEGAL godparents go, if heavn forbid something happens to the both of us, we have already discussed who we want and we'll ask them when the time comes for us to make up our wills.
