Please recommend your kitchen garbage can--not Simplehuman
Ok, had the simple human and I hate it-the pedal broke and the bag never stays in.
I was looking for a stainless steel one b/c I have to keep it out in the open.

I know you wanted stainless but what about something like this? Comes in a few different wood tones.
I have something similar to this but it is decorative, I can't find the link though.

We got one at Costco. It looks like a Simple Human one, but its not. It does not have a step on pedal, it has an infrared sensor on the top and opens and closes that way.

we have an OXO from B,B&B. it was $40 (minus 20% w/the coupon) - that's enough to spend on a garbage can IMO.

we have the "old fashioned" kind for now... we also had the simple human one and found it was so difficult to take the garbage bag out once it was full!
