Please Help- Need a Loving Home for my Dog! *UPDATE! #2: 3/1*

UPDATE #2, 3/1: Well, the family wanted to keep Leo instantly. To be honest, I wasn't expecting that but I figured it was best to do that so he could start getting used to the other doxie they have. There were a few fights between them; I guess they are trying to figure out who's gonna be the alpha male. I left Leo at his new owners' home and went to my house to gather and clean his things. I then went back to his new home and gave my final goodbye. He was so happy to see me! His adoptive mom said that he was crying a bit after I left the first time. Chat Icon I hugged him so hard and told him how sorry I was to give him up.

I feel like such a failure that I didn't do more for him. I wish I could turn back time and had gotten him a trainer a long time ago. I cannot believe that I had to give up my dog. I wonder if I will ever stop crying. This sucks. Chat Icon

UPDATE 2/28: Leo and I have an appt to meet a family today at 12pm. Please keep him in your prayers that this is a good fit for him! If all works out, Leo will have a doxie companion, CoCo! Even though I cried myself to sleep last night, I pray that this works out and that my sweet boy is happy! Chat Icon

Hello all. I am devestated to post that I have to find a home for my 6.5 year old mini dachshund, Leo. He bit my 1 year old daughter on the cheek this past Sunday. She was simply crawling past him and he lunged out and bit her. The attack was unprovoked and is the reason why I cannot keep him in my home. He also bit my step daughter in the back three years ago (she was 2 years old at the time) as she walked past him. Luckily, both times did not require the girls to receive stitches.

I am heartbroken over this. I purchased Leo when he was six weeks old from a pet store before I knew it was a bad thing to do. We even share the same birthday! He was in ill health and the runt of the litter. I had to nurse him back to health after battling several health issues as a puppy. He was by my side and licked countless tears as I dealt with many hard times in my life.

Leo can be best described as a nervous but sweet dog. He was never around little children growing up, which is a major factor in why I believe he feels threatened now when little ones are around. He is very lovable and thrives on attention. Like many doxies, he loves to bark; when people enter my home in order to make sure I know we have visitors, as well as when he is outside playing.

Please send me an FM or email me at [email protected] if you have any info or can shed some light on how I can go about finding my baby Leo a home with a loving owner who will give him lots of hugs and kisses. Please help. I am heartbroken. Chat Icon
