Play Kitchen - Wood vs. Plastic
I know I am early, but I am trying to decide which play kitchen to get DD for Christmas.
I'm debating whether Kidkraft wooden kitchens and Step 2 Plastic Kitchens....which kitchen do you have and what made you get it??
I am thinking the plastic seems for appealing to the eye...has more bells and whistles...but how does it hold up? Plastic fade? Stickers peel? Doors not close after awhile??
Thanks in advance! Who knew this would be such a tough decision!

Re: Play Kitchen - Wood vs. Plastic
I got my DD the Step 2 kitchen. It is phenomenal. I like that you can clean it, and it's durable. Also I don't like that any wood toy can chip, kwim? My DD has played with her Deluxe Kitchen set every single day since age 2, going on 2 years now. Totally worth the $$.
ETA- Nothing has broken and she plays with it daily. Stickers are sort of peeling off one spot, but I didn't follow directions and clean the surface first. No biggie. I could call them and I am sure they would send new ones. THey are good with calls and complaints (step 2).

We have the kidkraft wood kitchen for 3 years now. It's in perfect condition and it gets some rough play. I like it because it's not bulky and looks nicer. I agree that the Step 2 has more bells and whistles though.

Re: Play Kitchen - Wood vs. Plastic
we have the step 2 kitchen for almost 2 years now - its in great condition, i can wipe it down to clean easily and all parts are working, closing and durable.
it is in our basement, so it hasnt faded from the sun..
i also got it on a great deal for christmas - right around/after thanksgiving - like $50 off from toys r us.
