Planning around TTC?
are you or would you plan TTC around an event? We are going away with a group of friends in sept of 2010, and everyone is discussing planning pregnancies...but as many of you know it doesn't always happen as planned, so I guess my question is 2 fold...would you plan around this trip, and if you get your BFP this month or next would you take an infant on vacation? Cause if my math is correct and a BFP comes my way this month or next DC would be born july/aug?! yowzer Let me know your thoughts

Re: Planning around TTC?
I had so many events planned for next year but I came off the pill in aug and I am already pregnant so all my plans are on hold or I should say baby included I don't think you can really plan around events

Re: Planning around TTC?
It depends on what you and hubby really want. It looks like getting pregnant isn't the easiest thing to do and might take some time. Then again some girls on here have gotten preggers on the first try. So IDK I think it's something you guys need to think through JMO sorry I wasn't more helpful

Re: Planning around TTC?
It's practically impossible to plan around TTC. Some women get a BFP their first month. And it can take years for others. If going on your trip is important to you, then maybe wait to TTC until January. If you wouldn't mind missing it and want a DC badly, get to BDing and if it takes longer than expected, you can still go on your trip.

Re: Planning around TTC?
I agree. I think we plan & god laughs. I wouldn't plan around an event. (even though I kinda of am w/ BIL's wedding) As for the vacation I would plan it, but get insurance so you could re-schedule it for another time if you are too pregnant to go, or have an infant. I know DH would say let's plan it b/c he would be afraid it would jinx it if we didn't. Defin look into insurance.

Re: Planning around TTC?
My BIL's wedding just passed and I was convinced I'd be pregnant by then. It didn't happen but it also didn't stop me from trying.
I just got my BFP and I'm due the week before the wedding of one of my closest friends. I'll do anything and everything to be there but it didn't stop my efforts (obviously... )

Re: Planning around TTC?
I made a similar post yesterday about my brother's wedding this summer and how *if I got pregnant this month, I'd have a newborn. My DH and people on this board made me realize I can't put my life on hold and because I don't know how long it will take, I'm going to still try this month. I will, however, take a break the month that would make me due the same time as the wedding. I don't want to miss my brother's wedding.
It seems TTC is an imperfect science so I don't think you can plan anything. As someone posted in my thread yesterday, "when we make plans, god laughs!" so whatever will be will be.

Re: Planning around TTC?
It's reasonable to plan accordingly.
It may take a long time (planning is really not exact), but may take a few months & traveling very pregnant or with a newborn out of the country is, in my opinion, not a good idea. I know of a preg. couple who kept a long planned trip to Hawaii & had a premie there.
When I started TTC... I started planning local vacations (continental) just in case. Of course, if things went as planned.... I'd have a 3 month old by now.
