vacation planning when ttc?
DH and I are planning a vacation for December. But we're going to start TTC in the fall. Its possible that I could be 2-3 months pg when we go away. (please oh please oh please).
I know I should ask my doc this, but is it safe to fly in the first tri? We are looking at Costa Rica - should we rethink the destination?
I don't want to try an plan my life around something that may or may not happen. But I don't want to put myself in an unsafe situation if it does. What do you think?

I actually googled the crap out of pregnancy and flying. My conclusion was that it is safe to fly anytime during your pregnancy. However the first trimester you can get sick (like morning sickness), the second trimester is the ideal time, and the third trimester some airlines have regulations (like you can't fly if you are late in your pregnancy).
But its always recommended that you talk to your doctor about it. Everyone's circumstances are different.

I flew the day after I found out I was pregnant with DS. The Dr. gave me the ok.

we went to mexico when i was 8 weeks. i swear the day after we booked i got PG so i'd got for it

You can fly. A lot of people choose not to because the first trimester is when you will experience morning sickness and you are extremely tired so it's not always the ideal time for a trip. However, I would just plan the vacation and deal with it when the time comes. It's perfectly safe and a lot of women never experience the bad symptoms of pregnancy.
I flew when I was 7 weeks, 12 weeks and 28 weeks pregnant and each time it was totally fine.

Good luck...
I was so sure I'd be pretty preg. for my vacation in 1 month...I scheduled it for USA...just in case.
No such luck (it's lucky though...I would have booked to Mexico).
My point: don't worry about it.

I always though the 1st & 3rd trimester were no no's, but then I've heard from some ladies that 1st trimester you can and the biggest side affect is increased M/S. For the 3rd trimester it really depends on how far long you are.
