Pipes Froze...pipes burst...DH vent
So I wake up this morning to DH telling me the pipes are frozen.
Then he comes back upstairs to say "Pipes Burst".
Why, do you ask, did our pipes freeze and then burst?
What an excellent question!
Because my DH forgot to close the garage door after using the snow blower yesterday. 
And then he "didn't realize" that it was off track and essentially blowing cold air onto our pipes all last night.
Where is my husband now, you ask?
Another excellent question!
He went to work.
Because in the midst of trying to get a plumber and trying to fix this in the interim his main focus was that he needed to get to a meeting instead of staying home to help.
I case you are wondering - he's not a brain surgeon. People won't DIE if he misses one meeting about the HR system.
So here I am, pregnant, frustrated, without any water, waiting for the plumber.
And when he comes, I will have to wrestle my 97 pound dog to the ground to allow the plumber to come in BECAUSE I CAN'T OPEN THE GARAGE DOOR!!!
I'm so freaking pi$$ed off right now.

I went through that last week but our pipes didn't freeze. DH thought it was ok to leave the pipes frozen to go to work!!!

 OMG....maybe get a nice ham sandwich waiting, so that when the doorbell rings you can throw it into the dogs mouth while you let the plumber in?????

I think I'm most angry about how he didn't even own up to it.
You can BET that if I had been the one who had left the garage open all night he would have brought that up and made me feel guity.
I didn't blame him once.
And he lets me clean up his mistake without even saying "I'm sorry, I screwed up."

I called the plumber and asked him to call me 5 minutes before he comes.
He said he'd try. 
As long as I have that time, I can get him baby gated in the back room.
But if the truck pulls up before I can get him set up there's no stopping him. I'll have to get the choke collar and wrestle with him, which is not that easy these days.
He gets super protective of me when I'm here alone, especially if there is a strange man in the house.
It's comforting to know he'll protect me, but he doesn't always know when it's okay to stop.

I dont blame you for being annoyed at DH. I hope he apologizes tonight.

Yes, thanks for asking
The plumber came (no he wasn't good looking, nor did I see the infamous plumber's crack!)
He fixed everything up and then DH fixed the garage door so it hopefully won't happen again.
And we had a looooong talk about work versus life and how life SHOULD come first.
