picture day
The kids had picture day at day care, we dressed them up cute, and they came out cute but the cheapest package is 40$ x 2 kids is too much for us. I called the company and they wouldn't work out a deal. I'm so disappointed. I didn't think it would be that much. Will it always be that much even later with school pictures? Maybe later wewill be better off financially.
I recently did groupons at jcpenny but these came out cute too and I can't help but feel sad!

Im going through the same thing now. My kids literally go to school 2x week for 2 hours and I feel like I'm getting hit left and right for every little thing. I fully understand that on our family's limited income, it's a problem which other families in that school don't necessarily have (wealthy area) But they're 2, and the price of a picture pkg is so expensive... I wish that for the $ they just gave a disc or PW so I can print what I want instead of useless pics I will never use.

At my sons day care there is an option that you can get one sheet of the pictures instead of the whole package. Maybe something like that is an option

Yep $40 is about the going price for a package. I get one photo like 8X10, buy it... own it... scan it, copy and reprint it. I haven't done that in awhile since my Aunt now just 'has to have' every school photo so we split it.

Yes it normal and our daycare does them 2x a year. You get to the point where no matter how cute they are you won't buy them all.

We looked on the website and ordered the CD only. It was 12 bucks. Sometimes they only advertise the photo packages.

Thanks for your responses. Nope, really, the lowest package is 40 each kid, the cd is 50something$ just for one picture ..I just don't get it, does the school pay them? I wonder how's many parents are able to buy packages like this that's is worth the phoTograoher coming And that they ate not willing to work with me in pricing. .. I just wanted to buy one sheet each But they said it was not an option

At our school they give a discount for the second child's photos-is it simple smiles?

Re: picture day
That stinks! At DD's nursery school, they send home the entire packet and then you keep and pay for only what you want and return the rest. I usually spend about $35, but you could definitely spend less if you were just keeping one sheet.

Re: picture day
I hate to be a Debby Downer, but it only gets worse when they play sports. my DS pays soccer sorting and fall and basketball. That's 3 sports pictures in addition to school pictures. I'm at the point where I buy the absolute minimum. I just buy the sports cards, which still works out to at least $20 each time.

Re: picture day
we just paid $40 for the cheapest package for DD but the company did offer individual prints. so an 8x10 was more like $15 (if i recall correctly). is that an option? get a larger size (8x10) so you can scan it in and reprint it in a smaller size

It is $32 for the cheapest package, which is what I ordered. I didn't even know, but the teacher told me today that when you buy 2 packages, you get one free. So one set for each DD then one set of the two of them together. Why can't it be a BOGO? She told me they barely smiled.
On the order form last night, it said you could get a full refund with no questions asked if you're not satisfied. How shady would it be to get one package refunded It's so not me but $$$

Re: picture day
I think you should complain to the school and request they use a different studio with more reasonable options. While they probably won't change, maybe they can influence the studio to offer something more reasonable. That is really disappointing. My daycare we can buy one sheet for $10. That kind of feels like the right pricing for daycare pictures that happen twice a year.
