pet peeve... add yours
it chaps my hide when people tell me what i should do with my own hard-earned money.
why is it that people feel that are obligated to give me their unsolicited opinion on what i should spend my money on. whenever SO's surprise birthday party comes up, someone always "educates" me on all the better things i can spend my money on.
yes, i know that i can spend the money on a vacation that will gives us memories for a lifetime... you know what... if you've NEVER had a birthday party and your significant other hosts a party for your 50th birthday, that too will give you memories for a lifetime!!
ps. i wrote a very long post lol
i took a deep breath and shortened it. yes, a co-worker really got under my skin by informing me of how i'm throwing money away on this party. gggrrr lol

I have my retirement date (almost) set. It's about 8 years away, gives me time to gear up for it and to make sure that it makes financial sense.
It is something I am looking forward to, terrified at the same time because it means that I will no longer be earning money and will not be qualifying for SS just yet.
My peeve is that DH keeps telling me to retire sooner, join him and all his friends.
Umm, no. Just because you retired 4 years ago doesn't mean that I can or want to. We are not in a financial position for me to retire tomorrow. I don't have a pension like you do.
Another peeve is DH's mouth. He is blabbing to everyone that we are going to SC this fall to see if we want to move there for retirement.
I've got not so close friends of DH telling me not to buy a house, to buy a townhouse or a condo in a community. Huh ?
NOT ANYONE'S EFFING BUSINESS unless they are paying for my home.
Finally told him this past weekend that it is pissing me off that he can't keep his mouth shut. My private life is just that, private.

I would just ignore that co-worker. You do you. Host the party, and do what you can. I can’t believe someone said something like that to you!
I have a lot of pet peeves, but the most recent one I got was when I got my evaluations from students. I got good marks (1-2, like A-B). Someone wrote “well I didn’t go to class”. Then why bother? It’s kind of self-study class.
I also get annoyed when I’m trying to get off the train or bus and people get on without letting you through.

Phone zombies and slow walkers in general are the bane of my existence. It makes me crazy. Keep it moving people!
OMG yesterday walking on a busy midtown sidewalk, this guy just stops dead and bends over and starts doing something with his shoe.
I practically tripped over him.
People have no concept of anyone but themselves.
It's scary.
No awareness of their surroundings. It's actually a dangerous way to be

my # 1 is people who cannot walk and pay attention especially in the city. Penn station and walking to my office each day is a nightmare. Stay to the right and keep walking and stop texting while walking.

So true! I remember hearing on the radio (years ago) one morning the announcer was saying today is a great day to be alive! Then he said well at least it’s better than the alternative. I swear that pops into my head at least a few times a week.

People that post “natural cures for cancer” types of articles on social media without doing any research into it. It’s like “alright Lisa, I know that your degree is in knowing the complications of all relationships within the Real Housewives series, but go on and educate the world on how kale and frozen lemons are really going to cure people of the disease” 
People that are contrary:
Me - “It’s gorgeous today, not a cloud in the sky”
Them - “But we really need some rain, the plants are suffering”
Days later
Me - “Ahhhhh I love the rain”
Same asshole from the other day - “The rain is ruining people’s plans this summer”
I also don’t understand the urgency to wish your life away. In June, my friends were doing Halloween and Christmas countdowns, shitting all over summer fun. How about just live in the moment and be happy? Those holidays/seasons will get here, y’all have taken enough trips around the sun to know that. These moments won’t last, gotta soak them up.

It depresses me to see 26 weeks until Christmas! in the middle of the summer.
Life is short. Stop wishing it away. Enjoy each moment!
Or the people who start saying- I am SO sad that the summer is almost over! On August 1st.
Umm no, it's only half done. We still have a whole other month! 50% more summer!!!!
Just stop. Just shut up. I'm still in FULL summer mode.
Drives me absolutely insane.

Like PP said... negative people. I know someone who always has to find something bad. For instance
Me - how was the wedding?
Them - Beautiful!... Oh, but the flowers they picked were awful and the food was ok, but then they had... blah, blah, blah.
Really?!
People who can't laugh at themselves and takes life too serious
I have a few of DH's... LOL! Like why he can start folding some laundry, but then not finish the last 2 shirts that just sit there. He also always drops the food in the sink side and not the disposal side. LOL! I know it's silly, but I tell him all the time to scrape the plates on the side with the disposal.

oh my goodness. some of these are funny!
but i'll agree on the "wishing life away" pet peeve... mostly because i used to do it ALL.THE.TIME. i'm working really hard on changing it, but sometimes it still creeps in.

I have this one woman on my FB that spends the entire day sharing stuff. But the vast majority of it is false, or old.
Missing Boy! Please share.
then you look and it's from 5 years ago.
And then you look further and he was found safe 4 years and 364 days ago.
Be careful, people are poisoning water bottles through tiny pin pricks in the cap!
Then you look and snopes disproved it 4 years ago.
I don't even know where she finds this stuff to be honest.
But it's the sole use of her facebook account... just to spread fake news.

and FEET. I F**King hate FEET
oh..and when my husband takes out the trash either kitchen or the bathroom garbages, he doesnt replace the trash bag. WTF??? the bags are right in the cabinet next to the trash containers.

I would say that 95% of feet are disgusting looking.
Even women.
It's rare to see an attractive foot. If there is an attractive foot it should get a foot modeling contract ASAP, because it's so rare a thing
And to make matters worse, a lot of people don't even take the time to make their feet presentable before wearing open toed shoes.
Cut your toenails. Trim them. Clean them. Make it neat.
I'm not asking for miracles here.

Agreed. Or the ones who post things on FB saying that a cure for cancer has been found but it’s a money maker so no one will release the cure. First, no. And second, that’s not how it works, google scientist. Cancer isn’t one disease. It’s a million diseases with a million causes and would therefore be impossible to find one cure.
Second pet peeve: Shamers. Mom shamers. Food shamers. All of em. Shame on them.

God the worst one was today. She posted an article about a missing pregnant woman and her 2 young daughters in Colorado. Please share, please look for them!
I saw it was pretty current, and I was interested in the story, so I did something I rarely do, I clicked on the article.
Right in the middle of reading the article, I see- Related Story, Husband arrested in disappearance of missing pregnant woman and daughters.
Sure enough, that article says he was arrested for their murder.
God, so awful.
But it goes to show she isn't even reading what she is sharing because it was RIGHT in the article.

Because most likely they are too busy staring at their phone to realize the light has changed.
This is a reason the US needs to change its light system. Here, the light goes from red to yellow to green. It helps the driver ready to go. That might also have to do with the fact that you have to move the car into first gear, so that helps get the car ready in time. If you don’t have the car ready in time, be sure to have lots of horns blaring at you.
