Pet Fish Died
My son's pet fish died. Do I tell him? If yes, how do I explain that? He's 5.

Pet Fish Died
We just went through this. I wound up telling him. It is still over his head but at least now he knows he is gone.

How did you tell him? Did he see the fish in the tank? Did you get rid of it then tell him?

Pet Fish Died
My mother in laws dog just died and we did tell my 3 year old. She absolutely understood what was going on and even asked where the dog was, which was what prompted us to tell her

Yes tell him. It’s part of life. But I don’t try and over explain. Keep it simple.

agree. Let him steer you with his questions. He might not have any for days, weeks or months. Once he processes e erything he might out of the blue start asking questions
