Oyyy.. well I'm not pregnant now but when I was last year, I told someone that for a boy we liked the name Jack and for a girl we liked Jenna. The person looked me straight in the eye and said, "Well, I hope you have a girl because I don't like your boy name!" Seriously?! How rude is that?!
I ended up being pregnant with a boy (who unfortunately did not survive) but we named him Jack anyway.

First off I plan to use Victoria if I have a girl  secondly, this is why now I regret sharing names. People always have something stupid or negative to say. Ugh, Im sorry you're dealing with this.

I can't believe how rude people can be when it comes to names. That's why we didn't want to tell anyone the names we liked. I think it's so rude to say something negative to someone when they say they like a particular name.
By the way, I know someone whose name is Alexandra and her nickname is Lexi.

Unfortunately it took me 3 pregnancies to figure out that I needed to keep my mouth shut!
When discussing names I didn't need to hear who had a dog that name or a horrible student with that name etc. etc.
This time no one knows our name and I couldn't be happier! Plus I love that it drives my mother crazy

people feel like they can shoot down your name choices because right now it's not attached to the baby yet. It's so wrong and aggravating!
We haven't told a soul what names we're thinking of. When people ask I make them up

We had a really hard time choosing a boy name. Then one day it came to us. Initially we were not going to tell anyone the names we chose but dh has a big mouth. People heard the name and either loved it or hated it. When my mom found out we were having a boy she said that she thought I would change my mind. Well our son came 11 wks early and spent 7 wks in the nicu and was readmitted 3 days after discharge for another 2 days. My son's name is Leonidas James. Leonidas means great strength and that is exactly what our little guy has. Now that he is here everyone loves his name and he is living up to its meaning. Go with what you like. When people made comments to us I listened but in the end did what I wanted.

this is the EXACT reason why we have kept it a secret. I dont want to hear peoples opinions. I am sure some people wont like the name we chose but I feel like they are less likely to say anything once it's done. Good luck and dont listen to anyone but yourselves.
