Pediatricians in West Suffolk
Hello everyone. I'm usually on the Pregnancy board, but I'm about to start interviewing pediatricians and needed some recommendations. I'm looking in Smithtown/Kings Park/Commack kinda area. I'd be willing to travel a little beyond there as well. Any good ones?

DD goes to Mid Suffolk peds in Islandia/Hauppauge. I've had nothing but good experiences with them so far.

we use smithtown pediatrics. i went there as a kid!
no wait time
easy to get appointments
very separate sick/well waiting rooms
lots of Drs, someone is always there
even though there are lots of Drs, you can stick with one if you choose

Agreed on all accounts. I use Dr Valmassoi and am very happy with her. My friend uses Dr Inkles and another friend uses Dr Wecker.
I have never waited more than 10 minutes for a scheduled appt. I came in once spur of the moment because DS fell and within about 15-20 minutes they got me in with my regular ped. They have all been really good and helpful with DS.
My only complaint would be the ONE time I used the night call line it took FOREVER for the nurse to call me back.
THere are 9 Drs in the practice I would say 95% of the time I see my Dr. Even when I call up and need an appt that day they always try to get me in with my regular ped.
Oh and htey are very responsive when having a Dr call me back if I have a question. I have always rec'd a call back within about 30 minutes.

A little further than your area but we use Friendly Medical in Stony Brook and we love them. They are right off of 347. Great doctors, no wait, separate well and sick room. I love them!

We use Dr Jamie Parles - I wanted a male Dr for my son.
I saw HIS father (dr Steven Parles) when i was a kid! he's still practicing, but not as often.

Us too! We usually see Dr Desanto but we have seen them all and been happy. DD#1 just LOVES Dr DeSanto so it makes life easy to ask for him.

Thats funny I have met both of them. I was talking to my neighbor one day and he said he took both his sons to Dr Parles back in the day - both his sons are now married with kids.
