Re: Pediatrician location ?
Due to moves, our DS has had 3 diff't Peds. The one we had before the one we use now I LOVED and didn't want to change, but DH didn't want to have to drive 25-30 min to goto the Dr. I wouldn't have minded that.
Our current Ped is ~10-15 min away.
I would not have any problems with a 20-25 or even 30 min ride.

Re: Pediatrician location ?
I see my childhood ped. The office is 5 minutes from my house. I love that I know and trust their doctor. I love that they're close. Getting an appointment is never an issue.
We use Dr. George.
I would only drive 25 minutes away if I had no other option.

Re: Pediatrician location ?
The ped we chose before DD was born was 20-25 minutes away and we switched because of a number of concerns, one of which was the distance from our home. Our new ped is 5 minutes away by car and I have walked there a few times.

Re: Pediatrician location ?
Mine is about 15 minutes away
20 if there is any traffic on the main road heading towards his office.
I could definately see a Ped that is right in my neighborhood and well raved about, but I love our Ped.

Re: Pediatrician location ?
I travel about 25-30 min (and it is not so bad ~ it does stink if your child is not feeling well but it has been fine so far my lo is 3 1/2)
I have a PM pediatrics/hospital that are closer for emergency's.

Ours is 20-30 minutes away depending on traffic. My thought process was that if there was an emergency we wouldn't go there, we would go to the hospital so the distance wasn't an issue.
Same here. Our first ped was my ped when I was little, my Boy Scout leader, and one of my primary male role models. He was about 30-35 minutes away. After he died, though, we just picked someone close, for convenience.

Re: Pediatrician location ?
10 minutes away. It's easier not to have to travel a long distance, as appointments seem to always be happening. Sometimes I will leave DD with someone home while I take DS, so adding an extra hour of travel time is a pain.

Same for us. But now, it's getting annoying. I can't just go in for a quick visit and either leave work early or go in a little late. It pretty much takes 1/2 a day because I also have a commute from work that's about 1.5 hours.

Re: Pediatrician location ?
About 10 mins, if that. I was grateful he was so close when we had to take DS in every week for his first 2 months! I like it better for emergencies too.
