PCOS & OPK
For those of you with PCOS that cannot predict ovulation with an OPK, did you test and get a positive a few days in a row or always get a positive at any time of the month, or never get a positive?
I have PCOS--I never got regular periods. I lost a little weight, which jump started my periods. I have gotten a regular period a few months in a row and I want to check if I now ovulate. My plan is to take an OPK next month to see if I'm ovulating.
So, if I take the OPK and my levels are just too off will I get a positive every day?
Sorry if this sounds confusing...

Re: PCOS & OPK
There are different symptoms with PCOS...I have PCOS and both my glucose and LH levels are normal...so I dont need glucophage and opk's work for me...it all depends on your hormones.

Re: PCOS & OPK
I have PCOS but my hormone levels are within the normal range. I get my period on my own but have long cycles usually about 40 days. I've been using OPKS for about 6 months. For the first 4 I never got a positive. 1 of those months I had bloodwork which showed I did not ovulate. In August and September I got a smiley face but not sure if I O'd. So far this month CD 17 still no smiley.
It depends on your levels, if you have high LH then you could get false positives on OPKs. I'm going to an RE next month bc I don't like the guessing game! I also started temping so I know if the smiley is really indicating ovulation!

ita..it can really vary from person to person..
i do not ovulate on my own and my hormones r all out of waxck and i am on meds
there were months i got a positive once or twice on a opk and was not ovulating and many months when i never got one
thats why istopped using them and saw a RE so he can tell me if i was responding to meds
if you have PCOS i suggest seeing a RE
best of luck
