Party Planning: Need your opinion on this PLEASE...
I am planning a party late October for my son's first birthday.
My guest list that I have made smaller and smaller is 43 Adults, 6 children and 7 babies - under 2 months. Now my home can fit comfortably 30-35 people.
I can put 3-4 tables inside and have a few tables outside to cover the amount of peopl and kids. The party again would be in late October from like 12-3pm.Do you think I can get away with throwing the party at my home if I have a tent retal too?
Obviously my concern is cold weather for that time. If I don't do it at home I'm looking at spending close to $1500 just on place to eat...and that's for brunch! I can't spend that much on the party...having it home would be so much cheaper...what would you do would you go for it and have it at home???
Guest list is so immediate family only we don't even have our friends coming.
I could really use your opinion or tell me what you would do, THANKS!!

I think that you should be ok, especially if the party is in the beginning of the month. I got married on October 7 and the temperature was in the high 80's on our wedding day. We also had great weather for our honeymoon in Washington DC.

since it's late october, the weather will probably be colder. can you rent a heater with the tent?
some of those people have to RSVP no. you never get 100% of your guest list so you might have just the right amount!

I would definetely rent a tent with walls and a couple of heaters.
My cousine had her son's 1st birthday late April in the backyard (she had a petting zoo theme) and it was freezing and windy. She had rented the heaters at the last minute and it definetely warmed up the tent area.

You will definitely have at least 8 people respond no and it doesn't get really cold until late October/November so I would go for it.

my DS's birthday is Oct 24th, we have done his party at home {outside} We rented a tent {WITH SIDES}, tables, and chairs. We also had a couple heaters plugged in in case it got cold. Also, made a fire outside so we could have done marshmellows if we really wanted too

fire pits work really great and they're pretty cheap too!
although you would of course just have to keep the children in side to be safe of no accidents!
