party favor opinion
My friend is throwing a party for her 2 year old. The kids range from about 2-9 invited.... mostly in the 3-5 year old range. She asked me what favor I thought was best and I didn't know so I thought i'd ask others! lol! All would have the kids name painted on it and her options are:
gumball machine with m n m's
pail and shoval
ice cream bown with ice cream cone shaped spoon
What would you want your kid to receive?

MY DS is almost 3 and just got a gumball machine with skittles in it as a favor. We love it at this age - but might not have liked it at a younger age as we didn't give him candy then. DS can't have M&Ms due to allergies, so we were glad it was skittles.
I love the ice cream bowl idea too!!!

I like the pail and shovel idea.....but that is probably because we went thru 100000000 of them over the summer because the kids kept leaving them at the beach.

i think the pail and shovel is cute. im not sure how parents feel about little ones getting candy. i love the gumball idea, but the candies in side are choking hazards.
the pail and shovel is cute b/c you can fill it with other cheapie beach stuff.

We did ice creamm bowl and spoon filled with candy one year when DD#1 had an ice cream party. It seemed to be a hit. We have also done pail and shovel with DD#2. I really do not think you can go wrong with either. I would not want my kid to get a candy dispenser.

She just asked me something else = do you care if your kids names on on a pail at a place like the beach or playground? Where a stranger can know your kids name? Or does that not bother you?

I actually didn't even think about that!
I personally WOULD care that my DC's name was on something like that. I'd use it at home though, and just not take it to a public place. I don't get them anything with their names on it.

i would do the ice cream bowl or pail and shovel. probably would do the ice cream bowls.
and no, having the name on the pail wouldn't bother me.
