Paint Color Regrets..

Ever paint a room and then regret your color choice?

If so, what color did you try out and then despise? What'd you change it to?

we're picking out paint now. have the paint wheel next to me. I want to throw it out the window!

I can't say I regret the color, more like I have changed ideas on rooms now. Originally I wanted our guest bedroom to become our kid's room when we had a child so I painted it a green that could go with either boy stuff or girl stuff. Now we decided that we want to make our office/guest room the kid's room instead. I do wish I picked a different color for the other room now because it's hard to find stuff to match it.

Yes our bathroom, noone told us not to use a flat finish so the condinsaion drips and you see the marks. We plan to re paint it a darker color in eggshell

not in this house, not yet at least

in our apartment we painted our bedroom twice - first it was a turqouise type color. it was too much so we added brown stripes on the headboard wall - but then it looked like a crazy circus wall then we tried a burgundy red, we loved it at first but it was too dark in such a small room and god forbid you rubbed up on the paint it left a powder mark on the wall...

in our house i think i've gotten a little better at choosing paint colors that i can live with

yes the first and last time I let DH pick out a color!!!

In our old house I wanted a yellow for the living room. He said no. We wanted to paint it right away so we looked at some colors and he picked a terra cotta color (cant remember the name) but it looked nice on the sample so I agreed, hesitantly. We painted it that color but it came out more of a Caribbean peach color.

At the time we had no furniture in the room and fortunoff had just delivered our outdoor set which is a metal white set with blue seat cushions and pillows. So we had that in the living room until we power washed the deck

SO my BIL walks in and says "where is my fancy drink and little umbrella"

Needless to say, We painted the living room the next weekend in a yellow and DH NEVER questions my color choices anymore!!!

Yes I made DH paint our bathroom a merlot color from BM(even after the sample went up) and 2 months later he was repainting it with Aura and thankfully it covered nicely. The new color is Alexandria Beige from BM. It was was hideous and everyone who saw it gave us the same reaction..... "that's so not you"....

Yes bathroom. Painted it Navajo white and hated how yellow it was. Repainted after that.

When we first bought our house, we bought 4 gallons of BM Gobi Desert for our LR, DR, foyer, hallway, etc...a good part of our house! We did it on one wall, and it looked like peppermint pink! I was so upset, and told DH that I couldn't live with it. He brought the paint back to Janovic, and they modified the color of the remaining 3 gallons. So now, we have a custom color (which looks lavender, grey, or beige, depending on the light) in most of our house, and get tons of compliments on it!

Our den was originally painted Serene Breeze, and it looked like mint ice cream! After over 2 years, we just repainted it with Spring Meadow, which is much nicer.

We now spend a LOT more time and money with color samples before choosing paint colors, b/c clearly we're not very good at it!

Yes this color is in our LR & DR and i do like it but i feel like when we go to sell it, yes its neutral, but it might be way to dark for peoples tastes
