Packing Cubes?
I remember some LIFers were going to try them recently. Is there a certain kind that has better compression?

Packing Cubes?
I use them. A coworker gave me mine. They work best when you fill them as much as possible. I fill them and then zip part way and shove more in.

Packing Cubes?
i just started using them, too- used them for 2 trips now. i think they're most helpful in orgnaizing stuff, not so much for packing more in LOL like... i put my stuff, my 2 DS's stuff in one big suitcase. with the packing cubes, i can keep all of our clothes separate in the big suitcase and not have to sort through it all. like for each of us i do one big packing cube with clothes, and one small one with underwear. so when you get where you're going, you just pull the cubes out and each person has their clothes ready to go. DH gets his own suitcase bc his clothes are bigger HAHA

I think that could help me. When we took a week long trip, I had outfits in zip lock bags for the girls, but my suitcase was a mess of zip locks that I had to sift through to find the right ones. I had packed them in separate areas, like a row for each girl, but it got messed up very quickly. Our Disney trip, I really could use compression too though. I want to cut down on how many bags we bring and I'm bringing clothes for hot and cold weather...

Packing Cubes?
Packing cubes are to organize, not to fit more. Space Saver bags will allow you to fit more since they compress the air out. I don't like packing cubes for a normal vacation. I pack my DD's stuff in zip locks...and outfit in each, that would take a ton of packing cubes. I do like packing cubes for something like a cruise, then a trip to Disney, to separate things that won't be used right away vs. using them on another component of the trip.

I have some from muji. They're ok. I don't always use them.

Packing Cubes?
I don't think they are great for saving space but they are terrific for organizing. We are going to three separate climate zones on our trip and we are using the cubes to separate our clothes so we are not constantly digging through everything.

Re: Packing Cubes?
I got space saver bags at Target, and used them for our two week trip to Europe and they were such a life saver. We really felt that they were worth every penny and another great LIF reccomendation. Packing cubes are for organizing, I don't have those.

Re: Packing Cubes?
So if you get space saver bags, are you meaning the ones that you vacuum the air out of? If so, what do you do when it's time to come home?

Re: Packing Cubes?
I use packing cubes for organization, not compression ones. But I do stuff the cubes. Find that I can fit more that way than if I just put the clothes in the suitcase.

You would buy the kind that don't require a vacuum
Also, keep in mind with those, you can fit a bunch more, but the clothes still weigh the same, so make sure you aren't over the airline limit

Re: Packing Cubes?
No vacuum necessary, you lean on the clothing in the bag to take the air out.
