OPKs
This is my 3rd month using OPKs and first month trying Deanna's plan. Do you ladies test with OPKs more than once a day? I've read FMU is not optimal for OPKs so I usually test once a day, after work. Wondering if I should up it to two times per day?

Re: OPKs
I have longer cycles and really don't want to miss a surge, even though I tend to get about 48 hours of positives. I usually start testing cd10 once a day even though I have never gotten a positive before cd18 (typically cd18-22). Then when the line looks like it is darkening I switch to twice a day, morning and night, although when my tests are nearly positive I have been known to test even more frequently than that. I then test morning and night until it is negative, and then I stop testing. The cheapy opks are great!

Re: OPKs
Thank you! Last cycle I used First Response but they're so expensive so this month, I started with Wondfos
Today is CD10 so I took my first OPK today, which, as expected, was negative. I've been getting positives around CD15. My cycles are 29-31 (almost always 30).
I like your advice about upping it to two+ times once the line starts to get darker...thanks!
And good luck!!

I would do 2. One in the afternoon and one in the evening. Make sure you don't pee for 4 hours before testing and don't drink anything.

Thanks for the response!
Not really sure about testing at work and I usually get home around 4:30, so I can test then but would testing again that night before bed (between 11 and 12) be enough time in between?

Is this possible?!?! Don't pee for 4 hours before and don't drink anything?!?! I can't imagine anyone being able to do this! Is it just me?

The directions for my tests (Wondfos) say to "limit your fluid intake for about 2 hours before..."
I have to pee ALL the time so it is tough--I do hold it for at least 2 hours but 4 would be impossible for me, lol.

Re: OPKs
I haven't done them since when I was trying to get pregnant with my son, but I did them once in the afternoons, right after work.

OPKs
I used to test in the late afternoon. I only tested once per day unless it was when I did my IUIs with my DS.

Re: OPKs
I voted once because that is what I usually do but yesterday I tested three times because I am obsessed/insane. This is my third month using clear blue advanced digital opks and second month doing deannas plan..... Good luck and for all

Re: OPKs
As I get closer to usual peak, I go up to 3x a day using IC OPKs. As soon as one of those looks positive, I'll check with smiley face.
I do it so much because I have had months where I surged at say 3pm and then by that same night, it's over. So, it works for me.

This is what I do. When I get close I test multiple times a day with cheapies (morning and night, unless it looks very close to positive and then I will keep testing as soon as I get a good pee hold) and when it looks positive I will check with a smiley.
