+ OPK first timer question
So I started using opk's this month for first time and got a + opk this morning. AF usually comes as early as cd24 and as last as cd30 since coming off BC. I had to stop BC mid cycle in June due to a blood clot. Does this mean I have a short LP?
Also how do you all figure out how many DPO you are?

Re: + OPK first timer question
What CD are you today? You never know exactly what day you ovulate, but they say 12 - 36 hours after your + OPK reading. Other signs that can help you pin point what CD you ovulate a EWCM, spotting, and pain at either side. If you temp that can provide you with even more info. If your Cycle length is irregular it could mean that you are ovulating at a different CD each month.

Re: + OPK first timer question
I'm CD20 today, some light cramping on right.side
So how do I figure DPO?
My cycles have been crazy since coming off BC. I was on it for 13 years

Re: + OPK first timer question
You basically assume it will be in the next 12 to 36 hours. So definitely BD as much as you can. Ideally you will start to notice a pattern after a few cycles (use a calendar to keep track of CDs, OPK readings, and signs of O days you BD and look for patterns across cycles. This way, you can start BD prior to getting the + OPK reading because sperm can last up to 5 days inside you. If you continue to have irregular cycles, just start BD every other day after AF ends and each day you get a + OPK reading, then the day after (first negative reading). That would be ideal, but a lot of BD and a lot of work!

Re: + OPK first timer question
Keep testing w/opks until u get a negative. Day after ur last positive reading is considered 1DPO. u will have to track ur cycles - from time u O til af arrives to see if u have short lp. there have been months i don't O til cd21, 22, 23 but my cycles adjust and wind up being 34-37 days those months.
