Stupid first-timer question
OK, please bear with me ... this is my first child, and I have no friends with children.
We registered for a stroller that reclines all the way. From the description, “The multi-adjustable backrest even allows for a flat position for infants.”
Can you just put the baby in that when she is very small? I always thought you had to put her in the carseat and put that in the stroller?
I'm confused!

Re: Stupid first-timer question
I kept DD in her infant seat/snap & go stroller for quite awhile. i don't think we put her in the regualr stroller until she was a few months old.

Thanks for the reply! I am not planning to get a snap and go though. Just the stroller.

Re: Stupid first-timer question
I think strollers that recline all the way are okay for infants but any other kind is not. . many strollers (from what I have found) also have an attachment where you can clip the car seat in. .
of course this is all from an equally "stupid" first timer. . that's just what I was told but I don't REALLY know

Re: Stupid first-timer question
Why don't you tell us which kind you registered for so we can tell you if it's ok for newborns?
I think flat ones are ok. Are you registering for a snugride or something similar? If so, you can buy an adapter for the stroller.

Thanks! Yes, the stroller has the adapter so you can put the car seat right in it, too, but then I wondered why I would do that if it reclined all the way.

So smart! I don't know why I didn't share.
We are registered for the Bumbleride Flyer, which is compatible with the Graco Snugride, which we also registered for.

I wouldn't even bother taking your LO out of the snugride because of crankiness. Just use the adapter for the first few months.

Re: Stupid first-timer question
if you go for a walk (around the neighborhood, to the mall, etc...), you can put your newborn in the stroller --- laying completely flat. If you are out and about in the carseat and need to run an errand you can put the snugride on the stroller.
It is your preference ... actually, it really will be your DC's preference. My DS HATED the snugride - hated it, so he was in a stroller whenever possible...

Thanks for the advice! I guess we'll just play it by ear once she graces us with her presence.

Re: Stupid first-timer question
bc especially if you are out running errands or going into a store you can just pick the car seat up and put it in the stroller and not wake the baby. Remember that infants sleep most of the day and even when they are awake they can be more comfortable snuggled up. Trust me you will not want to be taking an infant in and out of the carseat every time you run in and out of a store! lol
