On to 2nd IUI**UPDATE**
AF came today.  I had hopes the 1st IUI would work but obviously I was wrong. I am drinking some wine right now and enjoying every minute of it! 
But I keep thinking of tomorrow and our visit to the RE. What should I expect? Will they do the usual blood work and sono?

1/7/09: Went to RE today and it turns out I have a cyst. I have to take a month off and won't be able to do 2nd IUI until February. RE doesn't want to put me on the meds until he sees that the cyst is gone.  I guess the good thing is DH and I can try on our own. Just sux that I felt like we were taking a step forward and we end up taking a step back..

My RE does sono and blood on day 3, then I get the clomid when I was doing IUI.

I'm so sorry. Once I get AF, the doc usually starts with the CD3 bw and u/s to start the next cycle.

Sorry it didn't work out! 
My dr. usually does a sonogram and if things seem to look ok then he just discusses the next plan of action with me.
A few times I have had bloodwork done but most of the time just a sonogram.

I'm sorry - that stinks. Don't lose your momemtum mentally though. Maybe its good you have the month to try on your own and be w/o meds - I know its tough but keep positive.
