olivia still has afever- updatefevr broke yipee

last night we went out with rachel and shamrock124 and olivia felt hot. she was fine all day and when she woke up from her nap at 4 she was very warm and flush. i gave her tons of water and juice. she didnt eat well for lunch and only peed 3 times today. she ate pancakes for dinner and then i gave her some tylenol. her temp is 100.4 with the head thermometer. wsnt able to get a rectal one she was too freaked out. my question is do i check her temp inteh middle of the night? i asked if anything was bothering her like tummy or throat and she said no. i gave her ice cream and a bath and she still seemed warm. before bed she was 100.9 and didnt give me a hard time going to sleep. im just worried about her fever going up during the night.

olivia just woke up crying and i took her temp and its 103.7. just called the emergency line and they said not to bring her in unless its 105. thought that was really high. she is watching tivo now of mickey mouse and drinking fluids. i also put a wash cloth on her and gave tylenol. hvae a feeling its goingto be a long night.

I KNEW she felt hot last night. She felt just like Ava did the other night. Ava had 104 fever Sunday night, and we used a cool wash cloth to try to bring it down, plus we alternated tylenol and motrin every two hours. We did tylenol, then two hours later Motrin, then two hours later tylenol. That broke her fever completely. Definitely try some other stuff to bring it down so it doesn't go any higher. Call me on my cell if you need anything.

she woke up every hour during the night. i am exhausted. her fever is still high its between 102 and 103. waiting for the nurse to call us back so i can bring her in. they have office hours till 12 hopefully they call its been over a 1/2 hour since we spoke to someone.

Lauren had the same thing on Monday night. Woke up warm with a fever and didn't sleep all night. I was convinced there was something wrong and brought her to the pedi. It was nothing... After she finally took a nap later the next day, she woke up fine and like nothing ever happened.

I hope Olivia feels better soon!

DS had a fever 2 weeks ago and it turned out it was part of an ear infection.

AWWW hope she feels better. Have you tried giving her Motrin? That may bring her fever down a little better than Tylenol.

Silly question, but does her breath smell, if so she may have a sore throat or strep.

giving her tylenol and it looks like the fever finally broke becuase she now has an appetite. i do have motrin if it comes back. stacey, here breath is fine just seems like she has gas. so i dont know which is worse. haha

glad to see she's eating & drinking. I'm sure with a fever that high she lost a lot of fluids. Hope this is the end of it for you guys.

Ali has been the same way - she woke up in the middle of the night with a really high fever. It has gone down some, but it is still around 102

We had the same exact situation on Thanksgiving. She was fine all day and woke up with 104. They also said no ER until 105. I did the same things and we took her to the DRS and found out it was an ear infection. Did you check for that yet?

ok so her fever broke at 11am and she has been fine since 11am yesterday. fever never went above 99.3 the whole day. i think we are going to take her out today for a christmas tree plus its too nice out not to let her play inthe snow. i did check her ears and asked her if her throat hurt or tummy and she said no mommy . but last night when i gave her dinner she said her mouth burned think she might have a cut or sore in her mouth and the ketchup upset it. olivia went to sleep at 11pm last night after having a 4 hour nap during the day and is still sleeping.
