ugh Olivia climbed out of the crib

this kid is too much. we are staying at my folks since dh painted olivias new room and she is sleeping in my moms crib. its got a changing table attached to it. i put her down about 20 minutes ago and i heard her say mama rub back. ive been trying to get her to go to sleep without me doing it but sometimes i have to. i said to dh shes in a strange crib im going to check her. i go up stairs and she is sitting in the changing table area saying mama im a baby. i cannot believe she climbed out of the crib. the changing table has a side that collapes and she could have got seriously hurt. i just put her back down but now im camping out in the other room to make sure she doesnt do it again. ugh i hope she doesnt try this at home. one more month and she goes in a big girl bed.

Re: ugh Olivia climbed out of the crib

How old is Olivia? I am in fear of this myself. DD climbs on everything and I am surprised she hasn't figured out the crib yet. I guess I would put a gate at her doorway when you put her in a big girl bed. Then at least you don't have to worry about her roaming around the house.

Jacob was doing this, so i had to buy a crib tent. I sleep more soundly knowing he cant climb out. He is going to be 2 in Dec but he is NOT ready for a toddler bed. He would roam the house like you say at all hours, cleaning the toilet bowl etc..Chat Icon glad she wasnt hurt! Chat Icon

Luckily neither of my kids were climbers (or at least were out of the crib before they got the chance to do it).

Glad you're getting that bed soon. Even more glad she didn't get hurt. I hope it was because it isn't in that crib a lot & that 10 weeks goes by quickly.Chat Icon

Re: ugh Olivia climbed out of the crib

My DD moved into a toddler bed at 15 months because she was climbing out of her crib. I put a baby gate on her bedroom door so she did not escape during the night or at naptime. I was relieved to not worry anymore about her climbing out and getting hurt.

Re: ugh Olivia climbed out of the crib

olivia is 21 months old. her crib at home is a little different so i hope she doesnt try to climb out tonight. i do have a crib tent from when she was a baby to keep the cats out. i might break that out for a month. so glad shedidnt hurt herself. Olivia loves to climb she climbs into her highchair if the tray isnt on which is very rare. and her neighbor showed her how to jump on and off of the couch so thats her new thing too.
