ok, so..be honest! (rapture related)
A few people I know have confessed that while they think this whole rapture thing is hogwash, they still have maybe just a TINY bit of fear.
I said that it was probably because even though sensibility would say it won't happen, it makes you wonder of other "what if' situations and makes you think about your own possible demise.
Anyway, how do you stand on this? Poll in place to save face.

Totally not concerned. The end of the word comes every few years according to some nut job.
Since rain is forecast for next week as well, I'm assuming it's the rain for 40 days/40 nights kind of end of the world, which gives us a few more days

Could it happen tomorrow? I have no idea.
Am I scared? Absolutely not! Whether it happens or not. If it did, I would prefer to be with my family though but I will be in the City so no.

This is entirely based on Biblical text. Which to me is a piece of fiction.

i think it's ridiculous and i really never even thought about it until i read the posts on here lol.
however, there is a tiny nagging feeling i have, solely bc DH will not be home with me tomorrow, and it's just I hate to think that if by some chance the world suddenly ended, i'd be alone.
well, except for the cat. and the unborn baby.

This isn't based off of anything real in the Bible. The Bible clearly states that we cannot know the day and hour of the rapture. Just wanted to point that out. I know some think that there is nothing real in the Bible, but these predictions are based off of "evidence" that is not there at all.

I am religious and I don't believe it for a second.
Let's assume you're willing to be open minded about it, and not immediately write it off on face, if you think about it it becomes even more incredible.
What first struck me about it is that the bible has been in existence for thousands of years and YOU finally cracked the code? How arrogant to think that not only have you cracked the code BUT the code conveniently tells you that the end of days is going to come during your lifetime..within the next year, even. Really? you caught something thousands of years of exegesis missed? And it's something that happens to make your time more significant?
And if you look at the "code" they cracked, it's ridiculously simplistic. It's not really the accepted reading of the bible. It's like they basically looked for a way to find proof of the world ending this year and twisted the bible to almost sorta kinda fit it. They take "A day is as a thousand year" to mean that the world would end in 7,000 years. Umm, no one actually thinks that's what that passage means.
Admittedly any time I hear of anyone saying the world is going to end on this date or that date, my immediate response is "nutcase!" but even if you did try to evaluate it somewhat objectively, you'd find that it's really bull.
I honestly don't understand how someone WOULD believe it. I feel sorry for the people who are so desperate. I feel like if anything they LACK faith in god if they have to follow some radio guy.

See, and I have no fear b/c I believe in the bible LOL
But I answered that I have a TINY bit of fear b/c I was relieved that it was a Saturday and I wouldnt be away from DD

Only God knows when this big experiment is going to end, so I'm not going to worry about it. Anyway, according to these people the world wont end until October...just that the people who are going to be saved will ascend to heaven tomorrow.
