Ok, fess up who has..........
put an outfit on DD/DS without washing it?
I did this today and felt guilty so I called my mom and she said "what??? I never washed any of your clothes and you were fine!! What is with all these new rules??"

I am guilty,
I try to wash them first,
but sometimes I havent or just bought it and want him to wear it and there is no time
or
I don't like to take tags off somethings if its not the size at the time and then when I realize it will fit and want him to wear it - it hasnt been washed
I think they will survive,
like you said I am sure most of our moms didn't wash our clothes first.

Guilty here too. I washed everything in the beginning (my mom and grandma thought I was nuts--they never washed any of my clothing). But now I've been slacking more and more.

Truthfully, I never have. I always wash her new clothes before I put them on her, I guess its because I do the same w/ mine before I wear them. I can't help it.

Am I the only one who truly LOVES the FRESH "crispy new" look of a brand new outfit ?  Once you wash it, it loses that affect, boo hoo!
Why oh why would you deny yourself of that ?
I really dont understand half of these "new baby" rules. Im a big beleiver of most old school rules.

This is too funny, because I told my mom that we had to start washing the clothes that we have gotten so far and she was like WHAT??? WHY??? So I told her thats what I hear should be done and shes like, damn I cant believe you kids survived! LOL
So I am going with her on this one, and not going to drive myself nuts with this. I agree with Anna, I want the brand new outfit look!

I think I get a thrill out of not following rules. or maybe I took too many marketing and psychology classes
and it drives my hubby nuts, because he's a big rule-follower, so not the little rebel
and I guess its because my grandparents gave me so many of those "when I was your age" talks....
How else would Dreft and all these other companies stay in business ??

I have to admit...I washed everything before she was born, but now I really don't wash anything. It's only been 7 weeks but I am already in the mode of...she'll survive. We all did. Even my sister whose kids are 2 and 8 said I was crazy to wash everything before she wore it. I also love the crisp new outfit look.

I wash all his clothes first but its mostly b/c his skin is so sensitive. He gets rashes too easily, so i have to make sure I wash them first.

I do it all the time, the redness and bleeding goes away in minutes!
But really, I never wash anything anymore, i actually rip the tags right off in the store before I pay for the clothes and waltz right out ignoring the sirens and the burly men chasing me
Did I mention thats its 6.22am and I have been up since 4.44 am??? OH and that I am watching Teletubbies???

I started out washing everything with dreft of course Then there were a few times where we were out and I needed an emergengy outfit and put something brand new on her. To my amazement she survived!
Now I never wash a new alphet (except underwear and pj's).

I only washed the things I got from the shower...newborn stuff. After that, I don't think I washed anything. She's never had a reaction, so I think we're fine!

same here as well........my mom said the same thing. I just stopped washing them. SHe grows out of them so fast that I can't keep up.......

This reminds me when my bff was prego last year w/ her twins (I was her coach) we went to a 24hr laundry mat at like 2am with all the clothes. I was neurotic w/ her. She was just yelling at me the other day because I wouldn't let her have fried clam strip's @ our fav clam shack. I made her get a burger.
Anyway it was just so funny we filled up 2 huge ones w/ all those clothes. Made her get drift and all.
We don't wash anything anymore.
