Ok, am I wrong for being mad?

I had to go to my SIL's house yesterday for my niece's birthday party. JT had to work, so it was just me, and my SIL told me that my niece had been sick all week, so I left Ava with my mom for a little bit while I went over there. Well, that has nothing to do with why I'm mad, I just added that, sorry... ...anyway....
I was telling JT's aunt about all of Ava's problems with her reflux, etc. and she looked at me all serious and said VERY nastily, "Well, she must not like what she's eating." Now, mind you, she knows I'm BF-ing. So I said, "Excuse me?" And she repeated, "OBVIOUSLY, she does NOT like what you're feeding her."
I took it as a personal attack. Even MIL had a W T F look on her face. When I told JT he didn't think I should be mad, but I thought that was so nasty.

I think that's a rude and ignorant thing to say. Reflux is certainly not caused by whether or not the baby "likes" what she's eating. I would be mad too.

No, you are NOT wrong for being mad, she sounds like an idiot!Some people have to learn to think before they speak! I nurse and am VERY for Breast Feeding and some people just have NO clue about it...

I'd be mad too, but honestly, she just sounds like an idiot. Try not to be upset and just forget it -- it's not worth you even thinking about.

I think the reflux is her gag reflex from comments just like that one. Yup - I'd be annoyed...and probably just a teeny bit bitchy back.

It just amazes me how at every new stage in my life lately, people get RUDER AND RUDER. Like, when I was getting married, people would ask me why I wanted to ruin my life by getting married. Then, when I was prego, they would tell me how huge I was or that I got ugly, and now, with a baby, I see it's not going to stop any time soon

I would be upset too, but try not to take it personally. Some of the "older" generation don't know what they're talking about. They think because they've BTDT that they have all the answers. My father's mother actually told my mother that her milk was "poisoning" me because I was very colicky.

I understand you being hurt by her comments, just try not to take it to heart.

I wouldn't be mad. I would be more like W T F??? Ignorant fool!!!! It is a very stupid comment! but things like that don't get me mad. I would like to think that I would come up with a witty retort back, but I never think of them quick enough.

But I totally understand why you would be mad and you are not wrong for being mad at all.

I just feel sorry for people like that- they have to go around life being an idiot and saying stupid things to people. You know the truth- that reflux has NOTHING to do with LIKING what you eat What stupidity.

That is rude. I would have been insulted. When I decided to stop BF Emily, a family member told me I was cheating. I was so upset. Ignore, ignore, ignore. That was very insensitive. You are giving her the best food for her. Don't doubt yourself.
