I also had a lump at 20 yrs old, I freaked out, turns out it was a fibroid, I had it removed, no biggie

It is better to have it checked out and biopsied, just so that you can deal with it if you need to. Otherwise you will always wonder.

i had almost the same situation. i had an ultrascreen as well and they found what they believed to be a "fibroid", the doctor told me i can wait 6 months to see if it changes in shape, or do a biopsy. it was up to me. being my mom died of breast cancer, i got a second opinion immediatly, and had the biopsy. It turned out to be indeed fibroids. but there was no way i was going to just sit around for 6 months waiting for a change. you did the absolute correct thing by setting up a biopsy. you will be fine. but you always have to be on top of your own health. noone else is going to do it for you. bravo for doing the biopsy. many many prayers and hugs for awesome results!!!

Get the biopsy done but depending on the results, I may get a 2nd opinion. Granted they need to know exactly how long the lump has been there, but regardless how long it's been there a lump is a lump. Make a decision, ya know...he is the dr, not you

after going through this a year ago I have to say, the waiting is the worst thing. You should go straight to the biopsy...and although your doc would have better info knowing how long it was there, the emphasis is on what it is now.
Hope this time goes by fast...

I am sorry your appointment did not go as smoothly as hoped. If you want a specialist for a second opinion feel free to FM me. My mom's surgeon is fantastic. I see him for preventative and genetic counseling, since mom's diagnosis a few years ago.
