october moms- where are you at interms of being ready?

Im due oct 20th with my second but have feeling it will be sooner( jinxing myself here!) Anyway, Im not having a shower but I have nothing done for this baby. all his stuff is still in the attic untouched since my son used it 4 yrs ago and the nursery is in shambles since we finally moved my son out in the bigger room last weekend. i have only a few supplies for the baby and zero clothes. Where are you guys at?

I am due Oct 22nd with my first.

I am currently taking childbirth preparation classes.

The crib was delivered and set-up over the weekend.

My shower is scheduled and invites are out.

DH and I are figuring out what to do with our apartment to make more space for the baby. That will take up the next few weekends.

Still need to create a birth plan, pack hospital bag, pick a pediatrician, get baby stuff (waiting until after shower), and probably loads more. But the baby steps I have taken do make me feel somewhat productive!

I feel pretty good but then I am due for a repeat c/s on 9/30 - so I only have 6 weeks left.

To do:
I need to pack my hospital bag (gathering stuff now)
Install car seat (week 38)
Wash clothing (done) and bedding (to do + take home outfit)
Pre-op testing 9/29

To purchase:
order new tubing for pump - after delivery

Done:
Sprinkle - 9/5 (Saturday) - had it, it was fantastic!
Outlet mall shopping - 9/6 (Sunday) - got fall clothing for DS and some more clothing for DD.
nursing bra and sleep bra - must call on Wednesday 9/2 to make an appointment for Friday 9/4 afternoon. - purchased 2 bras and a nursing outfit.
ask my mom to call pharmacy and purchase chuck pads - called mom to order them. - they have been ordered as of 9/1/09 -must get them from mom and dad.
remind mom to bring over the swing and bassinet - asked (they brought over the swing, it is set up and the cover is washed, and dried)
yellow bear sponge - purchased
diapers
wipes
tylenol
grooming pack
toy for DS to give DD (Lamaze Firefly (purchased) and thing for crib)
snuzzler
pink wash cloths
nursing pads
lanisoh
hangers
side snap undershirts

Have DSs new bed delivered (9/17)

Well, I'm due Oct 21st and so far all that's done is....

I've got the dresser/changing table set up.

The crib is sitting ready to be assembled in our room (which is where it will be set up)

I was told that some FABULOUS friends of mine are throwing a "sprinkle" for me Not necessary IMO, but they are just too wonderful for words.

I still have to go through all my gender neutral stuff I had when DD was born...just want to wash everything and put some stuff away. Go through it and organize.

I won't be packing a bag until the time gets much closer. I know when I'm going in for my c/s so the guessing game of when I'll go isn't happening

I don't have TOO much to purchase since I have everything from DD. But I'll be picking up some odds and ends here and there.

Im due 10/22

my shower is 9/12; anything we don't get from there we'll have to get on our own. im not buying much until after the shower.

Dh is painting the room now (got 2 coats of the main color on, now we have to trim)
will order the new carpet this week. luckily the store is right across the road so delivery and installation should be easy.

we have the dresser and changer in the garage unassembled. the crib is on back order until the end of august. Our handyman will come and put it together once we have everything.

I have a list of pediatricians in the area to call, as well as a list of daycare places to check out.

Did our childbirth class already, but we didnt stay for the whole thing.

Im dealing with HR now about the maternity leave. apparently i've been misinformed for a while about our company policy so im trying to get straight answers from them. I've initiated the disability claims with their claim management company so thats all set up for when the baby arrives.

I feel like i way more to do and it will just never get done!!

I'm due 10/28.
-Her room is painted
-Just got the call the furniture is in, but we will not be setting it up until she is born.
-I sched. my hospital tour for 9/23
-Found a peditrician. Will call next week

I think I'm still in denial that two babies are coming( and quite possibly as soon as 6 weeks from now) ...b/c I have done next to anything.

I have a ton of clothes to wash for them...Need to get a dresser ....get carpets cleaned and get our room ready, set up crib etc...

Buy a TON of stuff....

i have my shower next sunday. then im going to set up the crib, dresser and glider. im going to wait to put everything else out after he's born.

i have my hospital tour 9/3. breastfeeding 9/9. lamaze 9/11, 9/18 and 9/25.

i think ill do my bag at 35 weeks.

8 more weeks!!!

i think im the most behind!!! Im due 10/17 dont have anything done at all... Nothing. waiting for basement to be finished (in progress) to start moving stuff from the computer room to the basment and then hopefully start the nursery in 2 weeks or so.

I'm due 10/25, but c-section is being scheduled for the week of the 11th! Might go sooner if my complete placenta previa causes trouble.

Nursery is done (paint, carpet, molding). Waiting for furniture to come in. Still need window treatments. Bassinet is ready to go - just need to wash the sheet.

Need to get moving on packing my hospital bag and buying decent pajamas for the hospital. We are interviewing pediatricians next week.

My shower is next Saturday.

well DH and i are under contract right now to buy a house and we're estimating closing to be the first week of october. im due 10/8!! so its hectic around here lately. we have a spare room in our apartment that was cleared out weeks ago before we found the house and even painted! now its holding all of the gifts that have been sent to us. my shower is this weekend so there'll be more stuff in there. just picked our pediatrician this week. hospital tour is booked for 9/3. starting to look into packing my hospital bag too.

eta: we got the call this week that the furniture is ready but we're not having it delivered here. we told them to hold on to it because we want it delivered to the new house.

I am due 10/27...We are just cleaning out the room now for the nursery. Plan on painting on Aug. 29th. Between now and then we have to finish clearing things out. It is being used as a guest/storage room...Crib is being stored at Mom's. We have company coming Sept 12th-Sept 29th from Germany. All that will be in the room is a bed and a tv...

I'm due 10/3 and feel like I have a ton of stuff to do...
-find a pediatrician
-wash clothes, bedding, etc.
-we're waiting for the crib/ combo dresser to be delivered, next week-- we still have to set it up
-pack hospital bag
-buy coming home outfit and a few other things for the baby
-install car seat

I think that might be it...(I hope so!)

1. Had my shower last weekend
2. Nursury is pretty much done
3. started childbirth classes
4. we interviewed 2 peditricians and need to meet w/ one more
5. started looking @ daycares

But I still feel like there is so much to do.

Well, after reading this thread I am freaked out, I am hoping for a repeat c-section on October 9th and will hopefully find out my date today.

The base coat to the baby's room is done. My DH has to paint the stripes now.

We are getting a new living room rug next Saturday, once that is done I will bring back all of the baby items from my parents house (swing, bouncy etc) I also have to organize all of DS #1s toys in the living room to make room for the baby stuff.

I have to move my sons furniture into the baby's room and pray that the new furniture comes in soon.

I will have the infant carseat installed around 36 weeks.

We have to decide on a name

Once the baby's room is done I have to bring up the 100s of bins of clothes that I have and go through them. Hoping my family will help me with this task.

I better get a move on....

I'm due october 4. I just had my shower this past sunday. The room is nowhere near ready (it needs to be emptied and the walls and floors need to be redone, we just finished the upstairs bedroom for us so she will probably be with us for the beginning even though i wanted her in her own room from the start) the furniture is due in the beginning of Sept. but we will probably have them keep it a little longer. I organized all of my shower gifts. We have to install the carseats, wash some of the clothes, set up the swing and pack n play, pack a bag for the hospital. I did not take any classes, but now am thinking maybe I should watch a child birth video. I went to see a pediatrician, I visited daycares, and am a little over half done writing shower thank you's. The only thing I feel like I didn't get at my shower was the diaper bag-although it came off as purchased off my registry. If I don't get it within the next couple of weeks I will go buy it so that I can fill it up with what I want in it. I handed in my leave papers at work and preregistration at the hospital. And I'm sure there is plenty I didn't even think of!

I really do need to get moving, hoping to have some progress this weekend. Its so hard when you have to rely on a procrastinating Dh to do things also.

Wow, I didn't realize how many of us there are in the Oct. 20 - 22 range.

I'm due Oct. 21st and we just had my shower. The furniture is in, and we will pick it up next week. Right now we are in a one bedroom apartment, so we are going to be setting him up in our room.

We go on our hospital tour Sept 1st. We aren't taking any classes, but we watched a lamaze class, and the laugh and learn childbirth video. My next step is to work on breastfeeding classes/videos.

I don't really know if I'm ahead or behind or on schedule, but I guess I feel comfy with where we are, so that's all that matters right???

The one thing I do have to start figuring out is babysitting/day care when I go back to work.

I am due the end of October and have had my first childbithing class with the 2nd one on 9/10 and the 3rd 9/17 and breastfeeding on 9/21. We have painted 's room but thats all we will do. In my culturs (both of them, jewish family and my italian) we dont bring anything into the house before they are born, so I am nervous about things being ready.. We did order the furniture but we worked it out that they will deliver it while I am in the hospital or a day or 2 after I get home.

I am having a shower thanks to my MIL and everything will go to my grandma's from there.. My aunt said she will prewash some clothes and sheets and stuff and bring them to my house after the baby is born while I am in the hospital.

I plan on packing my hospital bag around 36 weeks and will start making room in kitchen cabinets and linen closet etc for bottles and towels and stuff like that over the next few weeks. I feel like no matter what I will not be ready but I just keep telling myself it will all work out...
