Re: October Mommies!

So I just came back from my 38 week appt. They did another growth sono, and fortunately he's not as big as I feared- he's measuring about 7lbs2oz. The baby's head is still really low, but the cervix was in a weird spot behind the head so she couldn't really get at it without potentially hurting me. So I don't know if I've dilated or if I'm more effaced.Chat Icon

Re: October Mommies!

Great update Nicole - sounds like the baby isn't as big as you were thinking, which is good news. Our little one was measuring 7 lbs 7 oz at my 37 wk growth sono, so I'm getting nervous now that I'm hitting 39 wks Chat Icon

sorry they couldn't tell you if you were anymore dilated or effaced.. that sucks. Actually this past week was the first time they told me anything about effacement. For me it depends on which doctor I see in my practice - each one of them seems to do the internals differently, which irks me Chat Icon

Re: October Mommies!

I go Wednesday. I feel like I have been having signs of pre labor all week. Random contractions, menstrual like cramps. But then they stop. I feel like this time around I am much more aware of little signs and it is driving me nuts! With Jack, I had no clue until I was like "Hmmm...yeah...that kinda hurts a lot...guess I should call the doc." Now everytime I feel something, I think..."could this be it??" Chat Icon Chat Icon

I don't go again until Friday. I am so uncomfortable at this point. I'm fine during the day when I'm moving around, but sleeping has become a nightmare. I can't get comfortable and I know I'm not getting any deep sleep. My hips hurt and I get up to adjust or pee every two hours. I know I won't be getting much sleep once the baby is born, but at least I won't be in as much physical pain. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: October Mommies!

My apt is on thursday...
Doreen I can totally relate to being aware of every single pain or ache that I feel.. With every pregnancy I become much more aware of what I should be concerned about and whats normal ( although I still worry all the time..lol)

Nicole.. Im also SO uncomfortable.. there is no position to sleep in or any time of the day that ever feels better.
Even a warm shower which I used to look foward to is uncomfortable cause I have to stand..lol
We have to just hang in there!

Re: October Mommies!

Hi ladies. I have an appointment tomorrow, Tuesday. I am getting beyond tired of being preggo now. As much as I loved my pregnancy, I'm just worn out, tired, anxious and uncomfortable. I just want to hold and meet my baby

I can relate to everything you all just said! Like Doreen, I overanalyze EVERYthing I'm feeling. I have been having random AF type cramps every day now, but nothing at all consistent. Like Nicole said, I feel OK during the day but at night I actually DREAD getting into bed, I cannot find anyway to get comfortable. I'm up every hour, every part of my body hurts from the waist down... sleep is a thing of the past and I walk around exhausted as a result

Jodi, I ave to laugh. I too used to look forward to taking a shower because its the only thing that soothed the aches & pains, but as you said I hate standing too long Chat Icon

Anyhow- praying for some news tomorrow but starting to wonder when , if at all , I will go into labor Chat Icon My due date is Saturday I'm really hoping something happens this week!

Hang in there Mommies ! Hopefully one of us will deliver soon!

Re: October Mommies!

Had my appointment today. I'm 'around' 3cm dilated but no other progress. The internal hurt like HELL Chat Icon and I'm actually hoping she stirred something up, since I have been feeling extremely crampy ever since..

Doctor and I are both hoping I go into labor this week -- but if not (and due to the fact she is thinking this is a BIG baby) she has tentatively scheduled me for an induction on Monday the 16th..Chat Icon

In the meantime I also am due to go back Friday to have them check my amniotic fluid levels and put me on the monitor to check for contractions. Hoping that maybe something will 'give' from now until then and I won't have to wait until Monday to meet my little guy.

I haven't asked up until now but please send me some LABOR VIBES!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Felicia, that's great news. Granted, I'm hoping you go into labor on your own this week, but atleast you know you won't have to wait until past Monday to meet your little guy. I wish I had a difinitive date. Chat Icon

Re: October Mommies!

Not to bad Felicia.. Its funny too cause I also was waiting to see what happens on my thursday visit to see if I can be induced on the 16th as well...
For me it will be a few days earlier then Im due.. but I live so far from my hospital that if my cervix was ready.. that they would induce me..

I love being induced.. ( i know most dont)

Labor Vibes to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: October Mommies!

thanks for the labor vibes everyone Chat Icon

Nicole, I agree that its nice to have a 'date' in mind now, so that even if I dont go into labor on my own I know I'll be delivering on Monday .. it just will make the next few days easier I think. Last night I had my first HUGE meltdown and was just so upset for no real reason.. I was just whining to DH about being in this uncomfortalbe 'limbo' state and just felt so emotional Chat Icon So I'm glad my doctor recommended the induction for Monday

Jodi - maybe we'll be delivering on the same day Chat Icon Chat Icon Since my cervix is def. getting ready and is responding and there has at least been some progess, my doctor thinks that the induction will go well .. I hope so!

Do you like induction because it takes the mystery out of when you'll go into labor? Or is it just that the process has gone easy for you. I hear so many diff. things about induction but I'm just thinking of the POSITIVES

I like it for a few different reasons.. ONE is becuase I have had them with both my children so Im kinda nervous to NOT have it done..lol
TWO.. would be what you said..because I can be ready. showered, shaved.. prepared..etc..
I enjoyed not rushing, not freaking out..
Labor for me being induced came on obviously quick and painful but yet only last 4 hours with each baby..
I just have that fear of it not being planned and being panicked but However it was meant to be this time is fine as long as its SOON!!!! LOL

Re: October Mommies!

Just got back from the doctor and am still 3 cm and am now 25% effaced. But I did lose 1 pound.Chat Icon So I don't think this baby will be coming early.

I have this gut feeling she will be born on the 19th, so she and Jack can have the same birthday!

Re: October Mommies!

I'm going to the Dr. tomorrow AM if I make it. I don't want to get my hopes up, but I've been really crampy and having what I think are irregular contractions for the past couple of hours of work. My stomach would feel really tight and then slowly start to loosen a little. It was really weird. I think that's what Braxton Hicks are supposed to feel like, but I've never felt that way before so I don't really know. We'll see how the night progresses. Maybe I'll get lucky and have Luca right when I want- Friday the 13th! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Good Luck Nicole!!!

I just wanted to pop on and say that I had my son Jacob on Sunday, after 13 hours of labor including 3.5 hours of pushing, I ended up with a C-section and an adorable munchkin. I am so happy (and tired!) We just got home from the hospital today. I will have to post my birth story soon.
He was 6 days early and he came after my water broke while DH and I were on our way to a wedding. Chat Icon

Jenn that's so awesome!!! I can't wait to see pictures of Jacob!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

As for me... After feeling really crampy and having some contractions yesterday- they all went away. And my Dr's appointment this morning wasn't exactly promising. At 39 weeks I'm only a fingertip dilated and still 50% effaced. I'm so supset right now. Everyone, myself included, has been so convinced that I was going to have this baby early that I feel like I'm late at this point. The Dr. said in the event I go past my due date I will be induced on Oct. 26- 6 days late.
