October Mommies!
It's our month! YIKES! I'm excited to meet my little girl, in deniall about labor and delivery and about how I will handle Jack who will be two on October 19 and a newborn! 
How's everyone doing?

Yup it's our month, can't quite believe it  Here I am worried about taking care of one newborn so I REALLY admire you about to give birth and having a toddler to care for! 
I'm doing well, will have my weekly appointment tomorrow AM so I'll update on any progress then. As of last week I was nearly 2cm dilated, the baby's head was very low, and the growth sono estimated the baby was about 7 1/2 pounds. But otherwise I'm having no contractions, haven't lost my plug - nothing. Outside of some back pain and major trouble sleeping, Im feeling pretty OK!
I am hoping to deliver before my 10/14 due date but you never know w/first babies
I'm mainly getting nervous about labor & delivery now and can't wait for it to be over .. and meet my little one  
Hope everyone else is well - more updates

I'm so excited that when people ask when I'm due I can say the 20th- I no longer have to specify the month.
I'm feeling pretty good, but my lowerback is absolutely killing me today. I was not dilated but 50% effaced as of last Friday and the baby is in -1 station. Like Felicia, I haven't lost my plug yet, but I'm keeping a close eye out! 
I go Friday for my weekly appt. and they're going to do another growth sono.

I am so ready to meet my baby 
I have been feeling a lot of contractions since Saturday AM, some painful, mostly not.
But it hasn't really been doing that much since as of today I am only 1 cm dilated. So I feel like I have a long way to go.
I can't believe it is already October

I am due on Thursday. I went to the doctor today and I am 3 cm's. The doctor stripped my membranes and she said she will be surprised if I make it until Friday. If I do I have another appointment on Friday and they will put me on the monitor to see if I am having contractions.

Good luck! When my doctor stirpped my membrances with Jack I went into labor that night!

It sounds like Jessica will be the first of the October mommies to deliver this month (unless you count Kim, a former October mommy who's little girl decided to make her a Sept. mommy instead )

My update 10/3:
back from the doctor, had another internal and boy did this one HURT today  I've been spotting brown since I left the office (sorry TMI  )
I'm a smidge over 2cm dilated and around 60% effaced. Not much of a change from last week when I was just under 2cm dilated, but at least its something. My BP is still low and I'm not swelling too much , and overall I am feeling good except for some back pain (and I think the baby is pressing on my sciatca nerve because I have pain running from my hip into my butt down my leg on the left side, and that is where has smushed himself  )
Hoping that I will go into labor on my own (and soon!) but anything can happen.. I hope hasn't made himself too comfy in there!
Hope everyone else is doing ok - more updates Mommies-to-be!

Im right along with ya Felicia.. Im about 2cm Dialated.. baby very low..
Its so frustrating to go in every week and not have any progress excpecially when it feels like your progressing so much.
I go back thursday again for another check.

Just got back from the doc. I'm 37 weeks and 3 cm dialted! I'm hoping this is a sign of an early arrival! BP was good, total weight gain so far is 21 pounds. My feet are so swollen and my joints are achy...plus sleep is not too plentiful!

Wow! 3cm, that is awesome (esp. at 37 wks!)
Glad you are doing well otherwise... I think we might be hearing an announcment from you soon

I feel the same. I started dilating nicely and now have come to a screeching halt the past week or two 
Hoping for more dilation at your next appointment

I packed last night actually since I've got this gut instinct that she's coming early. I still could have a few weeks ahead of me, and the possibility of her being born on Jack's 2nd b-day, the 19th.
Be sure to let us know how you make out tomorrow jodi!

Hi! Well my update for today is.. 38 weeks...
still 2 cm dialated.. baby dropped a little more.. and I lost my mucus plug..
I have been having alot of normal looking discharge the last few days.. the doctor said that, that was it.. that it either comes out in one big chunk or it can come out in the form of discharge..
Thats it for me!
Keep the updates commin!

Sounds like some progress , and for losing your plug!! (and thanks for the info, I really thought it had to come out in one big CHUNK or little chunks.. wasn't sure it was the same as thicker discharge)
