obsessions - how long so they last?
My almost 2 year old is obsessed with Minnie. This morning I attempted to put her non minnie shoes on, I turn around she has the other shoes off and minnie shoes in hand. She wakes up asking for minnie, goes to bed cuddling Minnie, she will take dirty minnie clothes out of the hamper and try to put them on. She only wants to drink from her minnie cup. I've watched every minnie's boutique more times than I can count and know the episode by ear alone.

Depends. Some are short others stay for a long time.

Ugh! My 5 year old still gets like that with things. They are all phases. Plus, I think each child is different. My 5 year old gets obsessed with things. First it was all about Yo Gabba then when he played soccer it was all soccer stuff (not that he's that athletic at all... LOL), now it's art and time. He needs to know the time at all times and always making pictures. Always about... what time is he making this or that. He also watches Disney Art Attack then has to make what the guy made. My 3 yr old does not get an obsessive behavior at all.

I think it is totally different for every kid. My daughter (2.5) goes in weeks. one week its she only wants ariel clothes and ariel cups and ariel toys but a week later it will be something else.

I'm waiting for my 6yr old DS to stop getting out of the stuffed animal obsession. So odd, his brother was like this as well.

obsessions - how long so they last?
This has been going on for almost 3 months. I got happy when she replaced her mickey doll with a frog but she cannot go to sleep without mickey, goofy, the frog and her minnie pillow. In the morning she makes sure they are all there because sometimes one will slip down behind the bed.

really depends. DS was obsessed with mickey for a year and a half, dora and bubble guppies for 3 months, paw patrol for 7 months etc.

My ds was crazy for toy story for a good solid year. Never saw him without his woody doll lol. Now hes on a dinosaur kick.

Were any of the clothes I dug up for you Minnie? I feel like there were a few in there!
As you can see by the rest of the stuff, DD also developed an obsession with Hello Kitty.
It was Minnie for a while, Elmo before that.
Now it's My Little Pony and Frozen or any Disney Princess.
I think it usually lasts about a season or 2...then they move on to the next age group's obsession!

Of my three kids, my son has the most obsessions by far.
He was obsessed with Thomas for a very long time--his 2nd and 3rd birthdays were both Thomas-themed. Definitely train-obsessed for two years. He's 4 now and just recently started easing up with that.
He was obsessed with the Broadway musical The Music Man for a good six months. We had to listen to the soundtrack every.single.time we got into the car for that whole time. His birthday is the week of Halloween and the year he turned 3, he insisted upon dressing as Professor Harold Hill aka The Music Man.
Currently, he's got a US presidents obsession going for about 6 weeks or so--he's taught himself all presidents in order, and out of order by their numbers. It's annoying bc he expects ME to know them all too

Yes, I thought I messaged you. She dove head first in the bag and pulled out all of the minnie shirts. I'm happy I had long sleeve white tees because she has worn one of the tank dresses every week since we picked them up. I hadn't even gone through the bag but she did and excitedly show ed me all the minnie stuff. You made her day.

Oh great!!. I had some Minnie shirts I had to leave out because they were so badly stained.
I'm glad there were a few in there.
And so happy she loved it!
I am just glad someone is getting use out of all our stuff!

My DD seems to always get over obsessions right after I buy her a bunch of presents for an upcoming holiday! That is what I get for trying to buy early!
Frog/turtle obsession lasted about 8 months (maybe a little longer). Frozen lasted 5 months. Now we are on month 3 of My Little Pony. So obsessions here only end when replaced with something new!

This is DS and Mickey. His obsession has been going strong at least 6 months and doesn't seem to be letting up. The first words out of his mouth most mornings are "watch Mickey." I think, there are worse problems I could have. I know this won't last forever. I just try to encourage other interests as well.

My DD gets more obsessed with things than characters, etc.
Like, right now, DD is obsessed with Play Doh. That's been going on for a while now. She's also always been obsessed with those "surprise eggs". That's been going on for longer than the Play Doh infatuation.
Ohhhhhhh, and she's also obsessed with being a major b!tch, and I'm hoping that ends soon, but, I have a feeling that one is going to stay around for a looooong time

We watch Minnie every morning. Dh and I are total enablers as well we buy everything since she loves it so much. She sleeps with minnie, mickey, goofy and frog every night. Getting her the last of the stuffies for Easter so we will have the whole gang.

He used to love elmo but now everything is peppa pig with my son. He wakes up and the first thing out of his mouth is "peppa". Hands me the remote and says "peppa". I ask him what he wants for dinner and he says Peppa. Last night I told him I dint have any ham or pork chops lol.
I wouldn't mind so much if nick jr would put on some new damn episodes. It's the same ones over and over and over.
