NYE in time square
Has anyone rented a timeshare on NYE? My SIL is retiring from the military this year and on her bucket list is Times Square on NYE. She’s put in her request with her timeshare already.
Just wondering anyone’s experience. We went in 2012 to an office party and it was so much fun. We kept going downstairs every half hour or so to get the handouts and celebrate the different countries. We had music, alcohol, catered food and were nice and warm.

Re: NYE in time square
I've done NYE twice in NYC. Once when I was in college a friend of a friend rented a two bedroom suite. It was catered and everyone paid $20 each which covered food and the room. It was great. There were about 50 people that I was friends with and we had a lot of fun.
For 2016, we saw the last show of Matilda which was NYE. It was a cross the street from JRs Cheesecake. By the time we got out of the show everything in the area was cordoned off. We picked up dinner and cheesecake. We were able to have a police escort across broadway to my BIL office building. We met him and went up to a high level floor where we were able to eat the dinner and look out over Times Square with our kids. We went down and got the hats they were giving out. Since we had the kids we left by 10 and were home for the actual ball drop. Did you know they do the count down hourly with small fireworks too. It was a fantastic way to do NYE. I would not want to spend NYE locked into a pen with the crowds. It would make me nervous and I know I would catch a cold.
