NYC gtg...ideas?
hiya girls! i'll be in new york city for a couple months was wondering if anyone had any interest in doing a NYC gtg?
the only thing that really comes to mind is the children's museum, but i haven't been to any place "child related" in new york city since having so i'm not sure where else we can gtg.
feel free to throw around dates and location suggestions!

Re: NYC gtg...ideas?
We could go the the Children's Museum, better for older babies, but still fun regardless, lots of baby friendlly restaurants on the upper west side.
OR, we could all meet up at Chelsea Piers, they have a baby/toddler play gym, it's $12 for one hour of free play and then we could eat there as well. And for any who wants to/needs to drive in, they have parking on site, it's paid parking but parking nonetheless. I went there to check it out for Shane's first birthday party, it's cute.
I have other ideas as well, (I scoured Manhattan for his 1st Bday party ideas). If anyone wants to come up to Washington Heights (right near the GW) there's an adorable open play space where I take Shane (and we're having his 1st bday party) and it's only $5 per hour of free play. But more ideas on top of that, let me know and I'll keep looking if those don't interest anyone.

that place near the GW sounds fantastic....as one with an 8 month old - em's not walking....so not sure about a museum...(then again - i know NOTHING about the place)..

I second the Washington Heights play space but I'm partial since I live up here.

Re: NYC gtg...ideas?
okay! i'm reporting back with information!
-the children's museum won't allow you to use your stroller in the museum...it has to be checked in. also, if there's 15 of us or more, we have to make a reservation . it's a $125 flat fee for a guided tour, supplies, etc. i doubt we'd be that many, but it's good to know regardless. there's so much stuff to do there with kids (and babies alike!) i think it would be a great place to gtg!
-baby loves disco was suggested by colette. it's going to be on sunday march 21st at Le Poisson Rouge, 158 Bleecker St, New York, NY 10012. here's an excerpt from their website detailing what baby loves disco is...
baby loves disco is an afternoon dance party featuring real music spun and mixed by real djs blending classic disco tunes from the 70s, & 80s guaranteed to get those little booties moving and grooving. the fun spills out from all corners of the club: bubble machines, baskets of scarves and egg-shakers, a chill-out room (with tents, books and puzzles), diaper changing stations, a full spread of healthy snacks and dancing, lots of dancing.
costs $15 per "walking human" , is anyone interested in it?? the club brat in me is dying to go to this! lol.
- the washington heights place seems great too, i'd be down for that. it's the most economical, .
can we settle on a weekend play date then, since it would accommodate our working mommies, or do some of us prefer week days? i'm fine with whatevs

Re: NYC gtg...ideas?
I'd do either Wash Heights or the Museum.
I just did the museum with Sasha and it wasn't a big deal to check the stroller. They are off and playing in all the areas anyway. You just carry them from floor to floor... I suggest going earlier in the day, as later there are older children who sort of take oevr and make it harder for the little crawling ones to play on the same equipment. I was there at like 1ish when I think a lot of them were out of school/preschool.

i'm good for the washington heights thing or baby loves disco - we're 100% out for the museum - my back cannot handle carrying around the bunny for the whole thing & she's not walking just yet!

Re: NYC gtg...ideas?
I think my DD is too young for Baby Loves Disco so I am open to the Museum or the Heights.
Preferably a Friday, Saturday or Sunday since I work the other days.
I would love to meet some moms on this site!
