Yay or nay?
Personally I like them, but not sure how to do them and if they would work with me.

I like the look, especially if the eye is dramatic, but on me it looks horrible (I think my skin coloring is just all wrong for it).

I like them somrtimes. I think it's best if they are not quite nude.
They shouldn't match your skin exactly--a little lighter ( if you are dark) or darker ( if you are light) & a little peachy or a little pinky.
I also think it is better if it is a little glossy. Nude & matte reminds me of 1992.
I am fair skinned with dark lips & I use a Lorac Sheer lip color in Nude.
I use it to neutralizer my natural lip color & then us a light peach or pink lips gloss over it. If I don't use the lipstick, those colors don't show up on me, but you could use a beige gloss to be more neutral.

The girl on the right is too extreme I think that was the point) but I don't think that works IRL.
I don't like this look below. Too matte, too close to her skin tone--her lips look invisible & it draws all of your attention to her crazy eye make up.

I love a nude lip. Not a true nude, but a darker nude. Urban decay used to make the best lipliner--I can't remember the name--I'll look it up--anyway, I would put on balmex, then fill in my entire lip with the pencil and put a bit of clear gloss over it. It was my favorite look...especially since I wear a lot of eye makeup. Now I have to go and find that lipliner.
PS- That pic of Angelina is to DIE for...
ETA: OK, I have to stay off this board...I just put 100 dollars of lipliners and lipsticks in my sephora basket before I realized that i am crazy and do not need 7346287356 lip glosses/sticks/liners...

love it! ysl makes a really nice nude thats glossy. MAC also has a nice nude that's very matte so at times i pair that with a gloss.
ETA: Myth from MAC, Natural Beige from YSL.

I love nude lips if done correctly. I like nude with either a hint of peach or pink. Not ones that are too white or beige. As long as the color doesn't make you look like death.

I always look like the above "bad examples" when it comes to nude - I am see-through pale and it never makes me look "done" - I need a little shimmer and shine to pull my look together!

I think that's why Angelina wears this look a lot too. Dark/bright can be hard to pull off on very full lips, especially with lighter skin.
Also, I wanted to add, that it seems that adding a little blush helps. In the pics I don't like, the blush is either too bright (Kim Kardshian) or non-existant (models).
