Not Parenting Related but I need support....FINALLY!!!! (updated)
Anyone who knows me in person or just from here knows my current situation. DH is active duty Army and currently deployed to Iraq. He has been deployed since October 08 and due home sometime around October 09. Our DD, Gianna, was born 13 days before he left.
Even though he is where he is, we still talk everyday, usually 3 or 4 times a day through IM's, emails, or on webcam. He always gets in touch before he goes out on a mission, and always makes sure to let me know when he's back in his room. I know i'm lucky to even have the contact that I do, but then when this happens, I don't know what to do with myself. It's been 30 hours since I have heard from him and i'm starting to panic. I live in KS, it's just me and our 8 month old and I feel like i'm about to go crazy. I keep thinking about the 'what if's' and it hurts so bad.
We lost a close friend back in January, someone that was in my husbands unit and now all i'm doing is sitting here crying and praying that he's ok. I don't know how much more I can take. Everyone says the last few months are the hardest and they certainly were not kidding.
I just needed to type I think, because if I didn't 'talk' to someone, I think I may lose it all together. I'm sick of being the 'strong' wife. I am one of the oldest wives in our unit and the other girls (some who are 18 with kids) look to me as the 'mom' of the group, so I feel like I can't call them, because they have been calling me.
I love being an Army wife, I have more pride in my husband than I ever thought humanly possible, but there are times like this when I find myself asking ' Why? Why did God make my best friend and soul mate someone who is willing to put his life on the line for me, our daughter, our families and friends?' AHHH!!!!
Thanks for reading... and being my sounding board. Maybe i'm just so tired from not sleeping more than 3-4 hours a night for way too long.... I pray for a phone call or IM soon. 
FINALLY! He just called. He was out on a mission for 40 hours straight! Thanks for all the support ladies.... now maybe I can sleep when Gianna goes down for her morning nap!

I hope and pray that you hear from DH soon. I can't imagine what you go through every day, and words can not express how grateful and humbled I am by the sacrifice that your DH (and you) is making to keep the rest of us safe.

Please call the other Army moms even though you are generally the support system. They are really the only ones who completely understand what you are going through and will probably be honored that you seek THEM out for support. It will help them too to see you are hurting also. Don't be the strong one- you deserve the support too.
I wish I could be there and give you a huge hug. I can't even imagine how scary this is for you. Thank your husband for keeping us all safe.

How incredibly hard it must be ...Hopefully it is just something technical, and you will hear from him soon...Please keep us posted and as the PP said, I would also talk to the other wives...Are any of them in the same unit as your DH, maybe they can find out some information?

We've been talking through facebook overnight and no one has heard anything. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Sorry if i seem short, I'm at a loss for words right now.
