Not ovulating... what's up?
I've never used an OPK before this week, so hopefully I'm doing it right. From my understanding the line in the rectangle needs to match the color of the line in the circle. But the line keeps coming up very faint, rather than matching the dark color. Does that mean anything? Could it be that Ovulation is COMING, or does that faint line show up no matter what, and actually means nothing at all?
It's just a little frustrating because i assume that i should have ovulated by now. I usually have a 28 day cycle and am now on CD15, so I guess it's not necessarily LATE, but still. I'm getting anxious of course.
There's no chance it could have come and I didn't realize, right? (I mean BEFORE I started to use the OPK)

I usually get light lines always and then eventually my line matches the test line.
You might just ovulate a bit later. i do usually on CD 17 or 16.
I am sure you will get it soon.

Re: Not ovulating... what's up?
I think I have read that most people ovulate between 16 and 10 days before their period. If you have a 28 day cycle, that could bring you all the way to CD18, right? Good Luck!!

Did you hold your urine for 4 hours? Apparently that's pretty important from what I've read. And try testing in the mid afternoon, that may help as well. It's still possible for you to O. Good luck!

Re: Not ovulating... what's up?
first off - thanks for all your input. This was just making me crazy. I was so sure that I ovulated on CD14 and that's what making me feel so confused now that I'm past that day.
I used FMU just like the test had said to. And I'm thinking about it, but just couldn't have missed it without noticing any EWCM (that's a must, isn't it?).
And RobinG - thanks for that info. I'm sure I'll O in the next couple days (HOPEFULLY). I'll just keep testing the rest of this week and see what happens. It better come (lol) or I'm going to be sooooo confused for next month
thanks again girls

Re: Not ovulating... what's up?
OPKs never quite worked right for me. I followed the directions and held it in for 4 hours and all that, but the tests with the lines - usually I would get a faint line, sometimes a line almost as dark, but never as dark or darker. Once with digitals, I got a but then the next month with digitals, nothing. Anyway, bloodwork confirmed I was ovulating - the tests just didn't work for me - they're not 100% accurate though the digitals are much less confusing since there's a smiley or there isn't - very clear to read, no guessing. You might want to give them a shot.

Re: Not ovulating... what's up?
I realized that I did the wrong time though. My particular test says to use either FMU or urine after a 4 hour hold between the hours of 10am-8pm. And I was testing as soon as I woke up at 6:45am. So I'll change that.
But I'm surprised that a few of you have said the OPK hadn't worked for you. I'll wait it out this month and if anything get that CBEFM for next month.

Re: Not ovulating... what's up?
I tried OPKs this month and never got a +. I am also temping and my temps definitely showed that I ovulated. I'm pretty sure I just never used the OPKs correctly (the no drinking plus holding for 4 hours was VERY difficult for me).
If I were you, with a "regular" 28 day cycle, I'd just BD from like CDs 8-16, and definitely when I saw EWCM (which, by the way, is definitely NOT something you *have to* see when you ovulate).

.
same here...when I O it gets darker then the other line and then after I O it goes back to being a faint line. I also agree with the poster to hold off drinking to much before you test as it can dilute it

thank your for that info! I've been really trying to figure out if I HAVE TO see EWCM everytime I O. I do recall experiencing that in the past when I was not TTC, but not sure if it happened every month, ya know? I never paid attention.
I am now onto CD16 and the OPK gave me yet another negative We BD'd anyhow, just in case. But I'll continue to test the rest of this week and see if anything changes. I'm usually very regular with my cycles. I stay accurate to every 28 days (give or take a day or 2 - but I'm NEVER later than 3 days).
