Not impressed with Shark steam pocket mop.
To me it's not any better than using a white towel running it under hot steamy water and mopping the floor with that.
It left some streaks, it never got really hot. Directions said you had to pump it to creat steam a few times but for me I had to pump more like 10 times and when mopping it would pump on it's own to create the steam directions say. Not so with mine. I constantly had to stop pump at least 6 times to continue. Constantly stopping and pumping. I gave myself blisters. I returned it and looking for something else.
Can anyone here recommend their steam floor cleaner other than Shark TIA!

I liked it initially, but it actually screwed up my wood floors! It made them really soft and i ended up getting all kinds of dents. went back to my regular mop and Murphys Oil SOap.

wow we use ours weekly if not twice a week never had a problem. Yea if you have a stubborn stain you need to pump it but we get lots of heat. You hear it poofing it but don't see actual steam all the time. Never had a streaks either.
I am not sure about any other brand but my mom still uses swifter on her floors. She has engineered wood floors and it does streak on them, i have plain wood with poly coat.

I love mine but I do not use it on my wood floors, they say you can but I don't buy it. I use it on my vinyl floors and I like not having to get cleaning solution for the floor...

I wasn't impressed by the Shark 2.... I like the Bissell model the best and now it's been updated and called the Max I think.... But one more looks even better by Haan sold on QVC and other locations

I also have a shark steam mop. There are pros and cons. The cons for me are the repeating pumping, constantly having to give it more water because it runs out of steam, and it doesn't get out any dirt in between tile cracks (I have tile floors in part of my house).
What I do like about it is it's more environmentally friendly and obviously not toxic...I hate the smell of cleaners after I do the floors, so with steam, I feel the air in my house is so much cleaner. The floors (wood or tile) do have a nicer shine to them too.

I had the original and I was okay with it, but it crapped out on me and I was force to buy the new Shark model. I have to say I love this. I have laminate flooring so maybe that's why it works for me, but its great and so much better than the original. Love not having to use any chemicals on the floor.

Funny, I have the Shark pocket mop and ours gets pretty hot. We love ours, we use it on tile and on hardwood floors.
I wonder if maybe yours is defective?
ETA: We don't have to excessively pump ours either, it does pump when we mop. Maybe see about exchanging yours?
