Re: Non teachers and work tomorrow
I'll be going to work.
Hours were spent shoveling between last night and today because we have to work tomorrow. Our cars now look like the snow never touched it, and there's a nice path to walk on.
The main roads are fine, and side roads should all have been passed with a plow once by morning.
I'd love to take the day off, but I really have no excuse.

Non teachers and work tomorrow
I'll be working- we had to get to my parents to help them. My dad threw his back out and my mom has lupus so she swells in the cold. Our street is fine, DH shoveled last night and today and we got out. I have a civic and drove to my parents main roads are fine. I'll be going in tomorrow. Hopefully the town gets to your street!!

Re: Non teachers and work tomorrow
DH is going to work. Our road has been plowed constantly since the snow started and we just finished digging out our cars and driveway.

Re: Non teachers and work tomorrow
They said the LIRR might not be running for the morning commute. If that is the case, I will be working from home. If it's working, I will be going in.

Re: Non teachers and work tomorrow
We will attempt to go in.
The roads on Long Island are cleared, but that's not the case in Queens.
I'll be able to drive to work, parking that's another story.

Re: Non teachers and work tomorrow
We went out three times yesterday and twice today, our drive way is completely clear. Unfortunately, our street was never plowed, so we have 27inches of snow in the street. Both cars were in the garage so they are fine. Our Main Street was cleared off, and I just saw the plow on the main side street. However, my street, which is a cul de sac was not touched. I am hoping that they will make it to my street today.

Non teachers and work tomorrow
If the LIRR is running I will be in. If not I'll work from home. My street has not been plowed but I was able to get out with 4 wheel drive and the roads outside my neighborhood are fine, many down to blacktop.

Re: Non teachers and work tomorrow
i doubt work will be closed tomorrow. We dug ourselves out today though and the main roads seem fine. I'm just wondering now if my sons school will be delayed because then that means I have to go to work late

Re: Non teachers and work tomorrow
I'm going to be taking public transportation and Uber. I am not going to bother shoveling out my car. Not worth it to me.

I live in queens and the streets aren't great but drivable. I had the day to shovel my car out so yes no reason not to go to work.

Non teachers and work tomorrow
I just got word that my job is closed tomorrow. I am ecstatic to say the least! But I could have gone if I had to, car is dug out and most of my commute to work is parkway driving.

Re: Non teachers and work tomorrow
So glad I am off on Mondays :)
My DH had to work Sat and Sun so we are all shoveled out and good to go.
He said the highways were fine. The side roads aren't bad here but not great either. He has 4 wheel drive but he felt it would've been totally ok for me to take the kids out today. We stayed home and just played in the snow though.
He also mentioned there were ALOT of people out and about today. He said it felt like driving to work on a Monday morning so it must not be too bad.
Good luck!

Re: Non teachers and work tomorrow
DH spent 3 hours digging us out and the LIE is down to blacktop and bone dry and that's how I go. Business as usual for me.

My son's school is closed so I will have to work from home tomorrow. I'm in NJ and side streets are a nightmare, main roads are clear!

Non teachers and work tomorrow
DH was out there twice on Saturday shoveling and again on Sunday morning bc he had work on Sunday. He said the main roads weren't too bad, the expressway was fine, and some back roads were still pretty bad. He left early to allow for that. But our street was plowed, and we have a 4 wheel drive suv. If your street wasn't plowed, and you don't have 4 wheel drive, I don't see how you would be able to get out.

Re: Non teachers and work tomorrow
I commute to work, so I'm in today. But honestly, I should've just stayed home. It was really bad walking to the train. DH got picked up by his brother because it was impossible to get his jeep out. The blocks around my house were not plowed and the snow is up to his door handles.
