Nobody’s talking about the snow?
LOL, not supposed to be much, last I heard it will be mostly ice Sunday. But Im with you, I'm off Monday so I want a storm Monday night so work will be closed Tuesday! The NOAA snow map isn't up because of the government shutdown!!!!

I follow Islandwide Weather on Facebook and really like them- they are a no hype, no bullsh!t page. Right now it seems like we're going to wake up tomorrow to a dusting of snow then changing over to rain to wash it away. They are still up in the air about the weekend storm though they said they should have more info today.

ETA: It better not frickin snow a lot this weekend- I have plans, plus I'm already off Monday and Tuesday! If it's going to snow, I at LEAST deserve a snow day!

My company will NEVER close.
My company used to close sometimes... but the past few years they have been real d!cks about it. I mean the last snowstorm wasn't a lot of snow but they knew the roads were really bad and only getting worse and they wouldn't let anyone leave early- they said it would be taken from their vacation time.  It took people anywhere from like 3-11 hours to get home!
BUT if there's a snowstorm, at least I have a good excuse to take a day and not feel guilty about it.

I live upstate. We are suppose to get anywhere from 6-18 inches of snow.... First snow since that freak storm in early November so I can't really complain.

My company will NEVER close.
My DH has "unlimited" time off so if the weather is bad, he stays home. He usually still works from home - calls into meeting and what not, but he definitely does not get as much done as he would on a normal day. I'm a teacher so I get snow days.
I live near Albany in a very suburban area and I feel like a lot of people do not go into work when there is bad weather. This is actually good because it allows road crews to effectively clear the streets so the next day everyone can easily get to work.

Oh I know. I don't work in a school either and I do work for a private company, but we still get most of these off. We used to get off Columbus Day and haven't for the past few years and I'm still pissy about it.

Me too, Nell. Me too.
My company stays open for almost everything and I don't have enough PTO to take every holiday off. It seriously sucks.

I do now. I never did before, I always worked in a hospital. My office closed for snow last year and I must have stared at the email with my mouth open for 10 mins.
Once I got over the shock I sent a mass text to all my friends to let them know that I would watch their kids for however long they needed. I make a point to offer to babysit on all of the school holidays, snow days, etc because I know what it’s like to not have backup care and consider myself lucky to have these days off.
