Noah Fell off the bed...Should I call the DR?
Im such a wreck.
DH was in the ER till 3 am with the stomach virus last night, Naoh came to bed with me and he fell off the end of the bed this morning. 9 we have hard wood floors but the blanket was kinda on the floor too)
When I picked him up , he cried and then stopped.
DH took him and he made a sound twice like he was gonna throw up. But he didnt..He just made this weird stomach noise and throat noise like he was throwing up...nothing came out.
Then he seemed very limp ( like no muscle tone)..but it didnt last more then 1 minutes tops and he was ok afterwards.
He has a small bruise on his head now that just showed up( forehead) ...
He is sleepy today but also was up ALL night b/c he wasnt home.
Should I call the Dr's Emergency service and ask?
Or does this type of thing happen?
Googling this is scary
Im such a wreck today and want to make sure I do the right thing.
eta- I called the Dr...he said teh reaction he had at first is actually a normal reaction and he seems like hes ok and to call if he throws up or gets lethargic again.
THANK YOU ALL

Re: Noah Fell off the bed...Should I call the DR?
I'm sure it's nothing - children fall ALL the time and bump their heads - when Alex was 3 months old I accidentally bumped her head into the ceiling when I was trying to get her into the baby bjorn.
BUT, I would definitely call your emergency service to ask - there are symptoms your doctor will know about, and ask of you, just to be safe. Trust me, parents call the Emergency line for much less (um, like when their toddler eats toothpaste )

i would call the dr. Because you want to be safe.
DD fell off the bed around 9 months, but she fell on her butt, thanks to diapers, no problems.

Re: Noah Fell off the bed...Should I call the DR?
yeah Id call when this happened to DD the Dr said the signs of a concussion were throwing up immediately and losing consiousness, so Id call just to be safe if you said he was almost throwing up.. Probably nothing but just to be safe

Re: Noah Fell off the bed...Should I call the DR?
I'll tell you what my Dr told us when Alyson took her first fall....she was standing, holding on to the edge of the couch and the dog had jumped from the top of the couch and knocked her over. She slammed her head hard on the floor.
Dr said that they need to fall about 8 feet to worry. She said to watch for signs of a concussion....basically vomitting and a change in eating habits. I was told to keep Aly awake for about an hour to make sure she was ok. She was fine, fell asleep and slept pretty darn hard for that nap.
