No Tuna AND No Deli Meats!?
So if I can't have tuna and can't have deli meats, what do I do when I just want a quick sandwich!!?

Chicken salad or egg salad are good. You can have tuna every so often.

You can have tuna, just infrequently. Egg salad is a good choice. Or something hot, like a panini, because as long as the meat/ cheese are hetaed, you're fine. Chicken salad works, too. Or chicken breast. Or veggie wraps. I love delis.

Thanks ladies. I will expand my repertoire. I completely forgot about all those other sandwiches.

The cafeteria in my building will heat the sandwiches, so I've been eating turkey or grilled chicken.

Re: No Tuna AND No Deli Meats!?
Lunch is the hardest meal during pregnancy IMO. My doctor said I could eat tuna in moderation--a can or so every two weeks, and she recommended I eat the chunk light which has less mercury.
Other than that, I've been eating many of the things people mentioned, veggie burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, etc. Yogurt also. You do get used to it.

Same here. I eat deli meat and I've had tuna on occasion. Everything in moderation!

Re: No Tuna AND No Deli Meats!?
Yeah- I live on the boars head honey maple glazed turkey. I only have it now though about once a week (as opposed to 5 days a week previously!!)
I'll only eat it fresh and I'll toss it if it's sat in my fridge for more than 3-4 days..

Why not grilled chicken breast? That is what I do. I did have roast beef once, but I heated it (it really wasn't that bad). And I did have Boars Head bologna.

Re: No Tuna AND No Deli Meats!?
I eat deli meat every so often....I have maybe had it half a dozen times since I've been pregnant - sometimes I just crave a ham sandwich. Most times I eat leftovers, I went through a chicken salad phase, egg salad phase and PB&J phase. It gets old fast.

There was a dr on the Today show and she said they have changed their stance on tuna. They think you should eat it, Ask you dr about it.

I usually make my own lunch- sometimes I will buy the Perdue Shortcuts, and make a chicken wrap- they are sooo good.

As far as sandwiches go, I love grilled cheese. I also eat provolone with mustard, lettuce and tomato on whole wheat. It's pretty good!

Oh my God that provolone sandwich sounds so GOOD! And here I have friggin 3/4 of a pound of provolone bc the idiot at the deli counter at Stop and Shop doesn't know her fractions to decimals. Why does that continually happen to me?

Isn't provolone sliced like that considered a deli meat? Isn't the risk of listera from the bacteria on the machines?
Don't get me wrong, I'd still eat it, especially from Stop and Shop, but I thought that listeria risk applied to all things you get at a deli counter, not just the meat, KWIM?

Interesting point that I completely never thought of. I guess then I would apply the moderation rule!

I'm impressed. I was craving meat, but was afraid to cross over. Since my BFP, I've had a bite of a chicken cutlet b/c it just looked so good and a bite or a meatball. But my vegetarian ways are too ingrained . . . my cravings are now satisfied by Chick'n Nuggets and Veggie Meatballs.
