No interest in sippy cup?
DS (1 year old) does not seem all that interested in drinking out of a sippy cup at all. I think this might partially be my fault since I introduced it to him kind of late. I think with DD I started trying around 6 or 7 months and right after she turned one we transitioned her totally to the cup (milk and water) and she was fine. Never mind milk, I"m just trying to get this kid to drink anything out of the cup but he just usually turns it over and shakes all the water out  . How long does it usually take for them to 'get' it? I've already tried a few different cups. Any advice or suggestions?
I feel like I should remember some of these things from the 1st time but I don't. I'm too tired to remember
eta: Due to his sippy cup snobbyness, lol, he is barely drinking any water either which kind of concerns me too. Even when I throw some juice in there he is just not having it.

Same here! DD2 is 11 months and refuses the sippy. I've tried a few different kinds too. But, she will drink out of an uncovered cup if I hold it up to her mouth. 
I'm trying to avoid what happened with DD1...although she took the sippy cup fine, after we dropped bottles she would only drink water from sippy, no milk. I want to introduce DD2 to milk and water in the sippy asap.

no sippy for tiny tot. her DC doesn't/won't use it. i knew about this before we enrolled her. she's been drinkin from a shot glass for about a month.lol i'm sure i'll feel different once it comes time to say bye bye to her bottle

This is DS too. I introduced it when he was about 7 or 8 months and he still wont drink out of it. I have tried 2 differnet ones. So must go shopping for more as i want him off bottles soon. Already transitioning to regular milk so hopefully it all happens soon.

My almost 8 month old plays with the sippy cup but won't drink out of it.... she also won't feed herself with a bottle, I still have to hold it. so i think im screwed here too... sorry i have no advice.

Oh, my little guy won't hold the bottle either. He looks at me like I have 2 heads when I try to get him to hold it. I imagine he's thinking: "Um ma, this bottle isn't going to hold itself up ya know??" My DD was the same way too but at least she was fine once we switched to the sippy cup! lol

I kid you not...like a baby bird. When she is eating dinner I will literally put water in a straw and put it in her mouth! That way she's getting the water AND I'm hoping it will teach her to suck on a straw. It's quite hilarious when I do this in restaurants and get weird looks!

i give prune juice using a medicine dropper. dont give water (well mixed in with food so via a spoon i guess). u can give that stuff with a bottle too.

Mine will drink from a sippy but bs he refuses to hold her own bottle... I feel like she must think that she's not supposed to hold her bottle herself. Should be interesting to see how she does with milk in a sippy...
