Never complied by wearing one indoors and don't plan to now.
I wonder if anything will really change. I haven’t worn one since May when the mandate was lifted except in places were all have to, doctors offices, dentist, work. That’s all. Oh the Chinese place used to have a sign required but no more. I will just get delivered or go someplace else then.
My kids go to school in one layer masks so if i am forced to "comply" to the new regime this sad case of a governor imposes than i will be wearing my cheese cloth mask as my giant middle finger to her mandates.
I ordered a few of these because I saw the writing on the wall with the witch's big ANNOUCMENT that was teased.

Thats the ones we have. Don't even notice that its like placing a tissue over your face.
You know what's weird though? After all these months of breathing the free fresh air like we were designed to, I put this on to try it and it STILL feels restrictive on me. Like I'm going to have a panic attack and rip if off.
But it's better than the other muzzles so....

New Mask Mandate
never stopped wearing a mask in public indoor places. Not in them long enough for wearing a mask to be that much of an inconvenience.

New Mask Mandate
I'm pissed. Fully vaccinated (no booster) and had covid anyway. It was mild. I am so sick of this BS. NY, especially NYC is about to go the way of the late 70s, early 80s with rampant crime and poverty. I consider myself to be very liberal but at this point I have had it and considering voting Republican down the line next time. So long as the candiates are of decent character...

To be honest, I could understand the mandate back then ×when people were being hospitalized and dying by the thousands daily. Now i just don't get it. No one is dying from these new variants which (in my opinion) are much more mild. Its like the common cold now. Everyone is getting it.

Definitely. I am moderate and tend to lean republican but agree with you 100%. Everything is so extreme and it’s all a huge power struggle.
I do think people are starting to realize that some of these mandates make no sense.

This is exactly what it is. Places that require proof of vaccines, don’t need to bother asking anyone to mask up. But the ones that don’t, do have to enforce masks (for everyone) so they’ll face more resistance from all sides making it harder and harder to enforce it, and they might succumb into asking for vaccine proof. This is Hochul’s goal.

If they had dropped the vaccine mandate and then imposed this, I would have respected it more. Because then at least their would be some science and logic behind stoping the spread.
Thank goodness we aren’t doing this in NJ. I hope it stays this way.
ETA: we went to our fave bar/restaurant and not even the severs we’re wearing masks. Before it was mostly then and yesterday I noticed no one was wearing one.

A mandate/executive order is enacted by the governor by power given to them by the state legislature during time of emergency. It is legally enforceable for the duration of the emergency.
A law is passed by the House and senate and signed into law by the Governor.
The difference between the two is how they came to be and the fact that the mandate is in effect for only the length of the emergency.
Laws of NY Chapter 18 Executive section 24
and I'm already having panic attacks about having to put one on again with my friggin' asthma.

Also- there are some extremely breathable masks you can wear if need be.

We will place a sign that says as per NY state mandate everyone must wear a mask. Vaccinated or not. And if they happen to not have one, so be it. If fines begin, we will enforce it after that. We are vaccinated, we wear masks for our own safety with the rise in numbers. But will NOT force our customers to be vaccinated to come into our business.

I actually respect that more. Masks are annoying but I rather be required/forced to wear a mask then the vaccine. Logically your thinking makes sense.
Groomers are still one of the places we wear masks. Doctors, dentist, vet, martial arts, school and the groomers. My son still wears his mask when walking around the building we live in.

I hate masks. I'm a former smoker and have asthma and struggle to breathe sometimes even without one.
It sucks but there are worse things in life.
Wear the mask, wear it correctly and enjoy your life.
No one is trying to control you and if they were, they could do a lot worse things than having you wear a mask.
Decorate your mask. Get some plain white ones, some fabric markers and let your kids make a custom mask for you. Get some sticky jewels at Michaels and add some bling to your mask.
Remember, this too will pass.

Yes. I don't like the direction this state is headed.... if I could move now I would. But unfortunately stuck here for at least another 2.5 years.
Even my friend who is liberal and very pro vax, got her child vaxed, said something to me yesterday that she is sick of all this too.
