New here...opk question and other
Hey ladies, Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. DH and I have been married for almost 2 years and we're not exactly ttc but we are not not ttc, whatever you make of that lol. I have PCOS and I am on Metformin because my sugar levels are a little off bc of the PCOS. Last month I came off my bc and had af from the May 29-June 3. If i have a regular 28 day cycle, I should get AF the 28th of this month. Yesterday I was feeling off and I have a Clearblue easy OPK. I said what the heck and used it and it came up that i was having a surge. So based on what i've read, i should be ovulating either today or tomorrow. I just used another test stick cause I wanted to see if the surge was still there and it's not. Is this normal? Should I still be surging? Or do you not surge the day you are supposed to O? I also drank 2 bottles of water so I don't know if it diulted it. With all this being said, one last question. When can I POAS--2 weeks? Is this the famous 2ww period? to all!

Re: New here...opk question and other
I'm in a similar situation, we are technically TTCing starting in August, but I'm temping and using OPKs now. Anyway, according to temps in May I Oed CD 14. In June I temped and used OPKs. I was nervous b/c by CD 14 I still hadn't gotten a on the OPK. I got my on CD 15, the same day I Oed in June according to temps. So, I'm not sure if 1) my other days were too diluted or 2) OPKs only work the actual day I will O for me. I didn't use one the next day. Anyway, I figure when it's time I'll try to CD 13,14,15 and 16 if we can. Good luck!!!

Typically you will only surge for one day and then that is an indicator that you will ovulate within 12-36 hours. That's not to say that you can't catch the surge two days in a row. It all depends on what time you are testing. And yes - the water can definitely dilute it. You should be holding your pee for 4 hours and not drinking during that time and then taking the test. Unless, if you use the digital ones with the smiley, you can test with FMU. Sounds to me you should be doing some . Once you ovulate, you enter the dreaded 2ww. You really shouldn't POAS until AF is late or at least due but let's face it - not many of us on here stick to that rule of thumb On average, a sensitive home pregnancy test can detect the HSG hormone at 10DPO and some even sooner, but I'd advise against putting yourself through all of that torture. There are many women on here who have gotten negatives at 10DO, 12DPO and even 14DPO and then gotten their BFP sometime afterwards.
HTH and lots of luck to you

Does that mean I should assume I will O tomorrow and wait two weeks from then? Unfortunately I can't wait til AF is late cause I technically don't know when I'm supposed to get it. I haven't had a full cycle since im off bc.

Yes, assuming that you do O tomorrow (which you probably will based on the OPK), then the day after ovulation is the first day of the two week wait. Ideally, you should wait until you are on 14 days past ovulation to test, however many ladies have gotten their BFP testing before then. However, I would say not to test before 10 DPO at the earliest. And as I said, it's best to wait until 14 DPO.
Hope that helps!
